Adoptee~

bulldogWe have a new “adoptee” in our family! His name is Muggsie and he’s a beauty – in an ugly sort of way.  My husband has always wanted an English bulldog, so for Christmas Debra and I made that happen.  However, without the help of a rescuer named Paula it wouldn’t have.  Muggsie is now happily settled in his forever home, and my husband is a happy guy!  Can you draw any comparisons on a spiritual level?

I’ll use me for an example. I was ugly in my sin.  God, my creator, always wanted me in a relationship with him, but sin separated us and I didn’t belong to Him.  Because of Christmas, and the Easter that followed years later, I was rescued by Jesus. I am beautiful now, clothed in the righteousness of Christ.  I have been adopted into the family of God, and heaven is my forever home.  I am beautiful and secure, and God is very happy!

In Ephesians 1, you will find these prnew-year-2017ecious words. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

As the New Year comes our way, it is our prayer that you are also an “adoptee” into the family of God! If that’s not the case, Love Heart, make it a priority this year to settle your position with your Creator.  Don’t let sin keep you separated from Him.  He loves you and wants your forever home to be with Him.  Gwen~

  1. Happiness and love are from within. Through god and Christ almighty anything is possible. Even ugliness can be perceived as beauty when you have love in your heart. Happy new year Gwen Debra muggsie and Santa. May god bless you
