Adoption

As I was listening to music and working on the ministry blog,  “Children of God” came on the radio by Third Day!  Powerful words!  I then went to search youtube for a video.  This is the one I chose.  It is fabulous for SEVERAL reasons.

Again, the words…but it also had me searching the scripture for authentication!  You know, that’s what we should do with everything we read, hear, or see that moves us!  Check it out…make sure it’s of God!  Just because it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck doesn’t mean it’s a duck!

In my search I found several interesting scriptures that back up the video!  “I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, ‘says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:17-18, NIV

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!  And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1, NIV)

No matter who you are, it’s reassuring to know that as a believer you are a child of God.  You belong to a loving, shielding Father, who is everywhere, keeping watch over us and is ready to listen when you need to talk.

The privileges don’t stop there…You’ve been adopted into His family. Therefore you have the same rights as Jesus!  This takes my breath away!

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his suffering in order that we may also share in his glory.” (Romans 8:17, NIV)

Now that we know what scripture has to say on the subject!  Enjoy this video!  Deb~
