On Christmas Eve he is awakened by a train that has pulled up in his front yard. The conductor steps out and tells him to get aboard. He gets on the train to find other pajama clad children questioning just like him.
The train stops in a magical city which turns out to be the North Pole. Santa appears and hands out gifts. The little boy receives and silver bell from Santa’s reindeer harness. One catch…he has to believe in order to hear the bell. Santa takes off on his rounds and the children load back up on the train for their trip home. The boy reaches in his pocket for his bell realizing it has fallen through a hole in his coat pocket.
The last line of the book reads…“At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them.”
You must believe for the spirit to work!
Scripture tell us “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.” (I Thessalonians 2:13, NIV)
Hmmm, you have to believe before the word of God can be at work in you. Maybe you are a non believer and don’t understand the ways of God or maybe you are like Santa’s friends and believed at one time but His voice has been silent.
Believe in the Spirit today! ~Deb
