Archives For Children

Rebecca Ann Sedwick, 12, of Florida, and Bart Palosz, 15, of Connecticut shared the headlines during the same week inangel1 America.  Why?  Before they even had a chance to reach adulthood, evil took its toll.  Both Rebecca and Bart were victims of incredible bullying, and subsequently, unable to cope, took their own lives.

As a society which is getting sicker and meaner with each tick of the clock, we continue to want to purge our country of anything that mentions God.  And so far, we’re doing a pretty good job of it.  Surely we don’t want to offend anyone!  Well, I am incredibly offended that we are trying to create a Godless society, and evil is smiling all the while!

As a child, in Sunday School and even in the classroom, The Golden Rule was displayed and memorized.  “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)  I can’t help but wonder if any of these bullies have even heard Golden Rulethese words?  Unfortunately, I know that “church kids” can be as mean as anybody else as I have witnessed that first hand in the treatment of our ADHD son.  But surely, if they have been taught how to treat others, somewhere deep in their souls they know they are doing wrong.  And if they have that knowledge, they can repent.

I worry for them, but the ones I’m most concerned about are the ones who’ve never heard – never been taught –  never seen God’s word in action.

Love Heart, I hope God has given you the eyes to see and the mind to understand that all that is going on in our society is not political but spiritual!

Pray for the Sedwick and Palosz families for sure, but don’t forget the families from which the bullies came.

Words cannot express the sadness that fills my heart for both these children and the families they left behind.  Our condolences from Love Heart Ministries.  Gwen~

I Wanna Sing, Sing, Sing

November 27, 2015 — Leave a comment

Do you ever have days when you just want to shout?  I’m talking praises and thanksgiving.

I love to sing…it’s like offering up a prayer.  It touches our emotions and allows us to lift up our voices to Christ.

I know that some of you are saying…I can’t sing.  Guess what?  He doesn’t care.

“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.  Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Know that the LORD is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”  (Psalms 100:1-5, NIV)

 Read that again

I love the children’s song…

I wanna sing, sing, sing

I wanna shout, shout, shout,

I wanna sing, I wanna shout, praise the LORD

When Heaven’s gates are opened wide, I’ll be sittin by Jesus side,

I wanna sing, I wanna shout praise the LORD.

When you think about it; we have a lot to sing about.  We are not promised smooth sailing as a *believer” but we are promised that He is preparing a place of us and is coming back for us.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”  (John14:3, NIV)

That’s something to be “Thankful” for and sing about!! ~Deb

Loveheart, have you ever been told you were a mistake?  Or maybe that you ruined someone’s life?  How about you’ll never amount to anything?  Or your mother was no account and you won’t be either?  Been called any names?  Felt less than loved?

Have I got good news for you!  It’s a lie!  You are created in the very image of the Living God!  You are hand-crafted perfection in Jesus Christ.  Don’t listen to your enemy or anybody who puts you down!  YOU ARE WANTED!  Gwen~

Go for it!

For the last few years, my son, Charlie, has been a mentor to a younger kiddo who lives in our neighborhood.   Charlie has taken him to church many times, and God has saved this little one.  Charlie had the privilege of praying with him.

Do we look for opportunities?  Do we take our time to minister to those around us who need to hear a word from God by investing our lives into theirs?

When I talked to my new little brother in Christ, I asked him why he had made this decision.  He gave several reasons but one of them really touched my heart.  He said he wants to help others.  He went on to say that he has a friend who doesn’t know who God is.  Clearly he is bothered by that.  God has already started doing a work in this young life.

Do you know people who don’t know God?  Do you know some who know God but aren’t reconciled to him throught the blood of His Son, Jesus?  Sure you do.  They’re all around you.  Ask God to give you courage and opportunity.  Then go for it!

You don’t have to be a preacher, or a Sunday School teacher to help somebody find the redeeming love of Jesus.  You just have to be willing to share what you know.  Invest your life…you won’t be sorry! Gwen~

As the last days of a brutally hot summer are finally upon us, we can look forward to a change…a different season. Fall is my favorite time of year for several reasons.  The colors are suddenly so brilliant.  The air is cool and crisp.  Even sounds are carried differently.  It’s a great time of the year!

Are you changing seasons in your life?  While my nest is empty, some of you are welcoming your first little birdies.

For others, your sweet little girl is entering the teen years and you don’t recognize her at all!  Many are falling in love for the very first time.  Seasons…they are all seasons.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 speaks of a time for everything. “There is an appointed time for everything.  And there is a time for every event under heaven…”(NASB)

Wherever you find yourself today, know that God is with you and that His mercies are new each day.  Be grateful for each day and each friend.  And, don’t forget to get in that last lick on your ice cream stick!  Gwen~
