Suit Up!

September 7, 2017 — Leave a comment

Do you know any “Prayer Warriors?”  A warrior fights against an enemy. In this case it’s you know who!  And because it’s a spiritual matter instead of a physical battle, the warrior’s weaponry is prayer.
Philippians 6:11-12, NIV states…

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Satan is not happy when we are doing God’s will and he will do everything within his power to stop us.

The rest of Philippians 6: 13:17 tells us just how to suit up. “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with readiness that come from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Sprit, which is the word of God.”

God’s promise to the faithful!…Psalms 91 and 121.

We serve a faithful God who sees the beginning and the end.  Let’s join hands and pray together as warriors for His kingdom.  Deb~

Discouragement can rob you of your peace, joy and satisfaction.  But I have GREAT news.  You’re not trapped!

I know people who seem to be in pickle! Then in a few years they are in a better place.

Either their circumstances or emotions have changed.  Why?…you may be asking.  They never gave up!!  Instead of wallowing in self-pity, they made the decision to believe God!

Nehemiah is a perfect example. (Nehemiah 2:1-8, NIV) He had every reason to be discouraged.  His people were in trouble and after receiving news that the city wall had been demolished, this man of God was very disappointed and grieved.  The pain was so great, but Nehemiah didn’t allow himself to stay in this pit.  He cried out to God for direction.

Sadness wasn’t allowed in the company of royalty and would lead to death.  But God answered Nehemiah’s prayer and incited the King to realize his servant’s sadness and how he could help.  This wonder led to the rebuilding of wall and the deliverance of God’s people.

God can take any situation and turn it around!  Do you live in anticipation of what God is going to do?  Or do you live in despair?   God can take your petition…just like Nehemiah’s…and turn it into something wonderful.  Don’t allow negative emotions to take a stronghold, call on God!  Deb~

One of the many things that separates Christianity from any other religion is the fact that one doesn’t have to “do” anything to get to heaven.  There’s only one way to come into a corrected relationship with God, and that is to take the sacrifice of Jesus as the payment for your sin.

The truth of the matter is that sin has separated us from God.  Do you know what sin is?  It’s an archery term for missing the mark.  The mark here is being perfect, like God.

There are always consequences for our actions, and scripture tells us that the consequence for sin is death.  Yep, there it is.  Death is what we deserve.

But, simply because he loves us so more than our little minds can imagine, Jesus took our place. God put on skin and came to save us.  He paid for our consequences with His death.  As simple as it may seem, it’s the truth.   Remember when Jesus says He’s the only way?  That means you can’t be good enough, or rich enough, or work hard enough to make it on your own.

Love Heart, if your sins haven’t been paid for, Jesus is waiting.  Call on Him today.  Gwen~

Has your world ever been turned so upside down that all you could do was cry out to God?  Mine has-many times. Honestly, I just don’t know what I would have done if I couldn’t have called on Him.  I’ve been so upset that I couldn’t even put words to my prayer…all I could do was call out His Holy Name!  And, I knew He was the only one Who could help.

Love Heart, if you don’t have an intimate relationship with Jesus, today might be the day for you to start one.  He’s waiting!  He’s not somewhere way out in the universe and untouchable.  He’s got His full attention turned toward you, always…and He’s waiting!  In John 14:6 Jesus Himself says, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  He is faithful.  You will not be disappointed! Who Is Your God?

April 24, 2017 — Leave a comment

Many of you may already know the Savior, Jesus Christ, while others of you may be seeking Him. For some of you, these may be the first words you are hearing about the One True God.  Hear this. Wherever you are in your quest to know God, Debra and I are praying for you.

Recently I heard a testimony about a woman who talked about “her idol.” It brought this scripture to mind.

Habakkuk 2:18-20 (NIV) 18 “Of what value is an idol carved by a craftsman? Or an image that teaches lies? For the one who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak. 19 Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Come to life!’ Or to lifeless stone, ‘Wake up!’ Can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver; there is no breath in it.” 20 The LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.

Love Heart, these are not my words.  They are taken from the Holy Bible.  Today, if you are counting on something made by man to give you guidance, whether it’s made of stone or wood or gold, please reconsider.  Seek God and find faith in Him and Him alone.  Gwen~
