Suit Up!

Do you know any “Prayer Warriors?”  A warrior fights against an enemy. In this case it’s you know who!  And because it’s a spiritual matter instead of a physical battle, the warrior’s weaponry is prayer.
Philippians 6:11-12, NIV states…

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Satan is not happy when we are doing God’s will and he will do everything within his power to stop us.

The rest of Philippians 6: 13:17 tells us just how to suit up. “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with readiness that come from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Sprit, which is the word of God.”

God’s promise to the faithful!…Psalms 91 and 121.

We serve a faithful God who sees the beginning and the end.  Let’s join hands and pray together as warriors for His kingdom.  Deb~

Discouragement can rob you of your peace, joy and satisfaction.  But I have GREAT news.  You’re not trapped!

I know people who seem to be in pickle! Then in a few years they are in a better place.

Either their circumstances or emotions have changed.  Why?…you may be asking.  They never gave up!!  Instead of wallowing in self-pity, they made the decision to believe God!

Nehemiah is a perfect example. (Nehemiah 2:1-8, NIV) He had every reason to be discouraged.  His people were in trouble and after receiving news that the city wall had been demolished, this man of God was very disappointed and grieved.  The pain was so great, but Nehemiah didn’t allow himself to stay in this pit.  He cried out to God for direction.

Sadness wasn’t allowed in the company of royalty and would lead to death.  But God answered Nehemiah’s prayer and incited the King to realize his servant’s sadness and how he could help.  This wonder led to the rebuilding of wall and the deliverance of God’s people.

God can take any situation and turn it around!  Do you live in anticipation of what God is going to do?  Or do you live in despair?   God can take your petition…just like Nehemiah’s…and turn it into something wonderful.  Don’t allow negative emotions to take a stronghold, call on God!  Deb~

Hold On!

check engineSometimes, the day in and day out things of life just drag you under.  The “check engine” light comes on, you miss an appointment, someone misunderstands what you’re saying.  Grrr!  Those days always make you feel a little “off” for lack of a better explanation.

If you’re like me, your mind starts to whirl at an alarming pace trying to figure out how to fix all the problems at hand.  The next thing I know, I’m completely in overload. If my body came with a “check engine” light, it would be flashing!

The truth of the matter is that you can only do what you can do.  Most of life is truly out of your control.  God is the one who holds the key to your beating heart and your expanding and contracting lungs.

peachAs long as God allows us to live, there will be trouble – He’s told us that in John 16:33. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Yep, there will be difficulties and trouble to face daily.  But are you one of those who are “in me?”  Do you have the peace that Jesus gives to those who love Him?  If you can’t say with 100% certainty that you belong to Him, get that issue settled today.  If you can’t find someone to discuss this with, feel free to contact Love Heart Ministries. Past/Future

Philippians 3:13-14 No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven. (NLT)

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)

Hebrews 12:10-11 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (NIV)

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NLT)

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)

1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (NIV)

Satan would have us to dwell on our past; our failures…but Christ can set us FREE!~Debra
