It’s Hopeless~

December 10, 2016 — Leave a comment

hopeWithout hope, a person can languish in unspeakable distress. When there seems to be no resolution to a current situation, we often say things seem hopeless.  That, my friend, is a very dark place to be – drowning in hopelessness.

Unfortunately, hopelessness is as old as time. In Psalm 42:5, the psalmist says, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

In the book of Job, hope is mentioned 18 times. In fact, one of my favorite verses is found there.  Job 13:15a says, “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him.” Who else is there, Love Heart, in whom you can truly put your hope?  Who has the power or sovereignty of God but Him?

Tomorrow is a new day and God has told us His mercies are new each morning. Don’t give up today, even if it has been a very long time that you’ve waited for help.  He sees and He hears you. More importantly, He LOVES you.
For whatever reason hope is delayed, your Father has the answers, and He is your Hope.

Gwen~

A couple of years ago, I met a woman for the first time and we talked for a bit about her life.  By her own admission, at 16 she had rebelled against what she had been taught by her pastor father.  At 17, she found herself unwed and pregnant.  Wow.  Too much life packed into too few years.  I’m sure when she was in the midst of all this, she probably felt like life was over.

Not so.  When we met, she was heading up a diaper drive for those who, once like herself, found themselves in a difficult situation and in need.  She spoke of her various ministries and what all God had done in her life and how He’s blessed her.  Life today is very different from what it once was for her.

Hebrews 6:17-19 (NIV) says, “Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

Love Heart, hope is the anchor for our soul.  Be encouraged!  It is firm and secure.  If today you find yourself waaay in over your head and wondering if life will ever be different, take heart. Lean on God.  Submit yourself fully to His plans and purpose for your life.   Get onboard with what He has for you.  He won’t disappoint you.

Oh, yes. My new friend’s name…Hope.  Gwen~
