Hold On!

March 30, 2017 — Leave a comment

check engineSometimes, the day in and day out things of life just drag you under.  The “check engine” light comes on, you miss an appointment, someone misunderstands what you’re saying.  Grrr!  Those days always make you feel a little “off” for lack of a better explanation.

If you’re like me, your mind starts to whirl at an alarming pace trying to figure out how to fix all the problems at hand.  The next thing I know, I’m completely in overload. If my body came with a “check engine” light, it would be flashing!

The truth of the matter is that you can only do what you can do.  Most of life is truly out of your control.  God is the one who holds the key to your beating heart and your expanding and contracting lungs.

peachAs long as God allows us to live, there will be trouble – He’s told us that in John 16:33. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Yep, there will be difficulties and trouble to face daily.  But are you one of those who are “in me?”  Do you have the peace that Jesus gives to those who love Him?  If you can’t say with 100% certainty that you belong to Him, get that issue settled today.  If you can’t find someone to discuss this with, feel free to contact Love Heart Ministries. Let’s Make a Deal!

August 10, 2015 — Leave a comment

Our cat, Joey, thinks he’s a dog.  Now I know that’s weird, but he really has no idea that he’s a cat.  He even wears a bandana!

I think that he thinks he’s a dog because when he was a kitten he started hanging out with our cockers, Isabelle and Annabelle.  Where you found one, you found all three.

Sometimes we don’t have a clear understanding of who we are either.  Some people think that just because they were raised in a Christian family that somehow they are Christian too.

The truth is that being a Christian is a willful act…a pact, if you will, between you and God.  You say that you are a sinner and He agrees with you.  You say that you believe that Jesus is His Son and has paid the price for your sin.  You ask for His forgiveness and He says, “Forgiven!”  You repent from sin and He lives within you.

What a deal!  You trade in the junker for a luxury model!  You give up your nothingness for an eternity so fabulous that even scripture says in 1 Cor. 2:9,  “However, as it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”

Love Heart, have you come to that time in your life yet?  If not, today is the day of salvation.  Gwen~

I Can’t Know

August 21, 2014 — Leave a comment

imageMy best friend, Gwen, is forever saying “I Can’t Know.”  It usually comes when I have a question about something that could have several answers, when she’s giving me time to figure it out myself or she just really doesn’t know the answer.

I know that when I am seeking an answer, if I seek God instead of the answer, the answer finds me.

Time spent in the word and in prayer are the key to finding the answers we are searching for.

“Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight…” (Proverbs 3:5, NIV)

Let me caution you, if you don’t get an answer right away, wait…”Let Go and Let God.” Resist the temptation to make things happen!  image

church1While waiting at the pharmacy, I struck up a conversation with another patron.  We talked about the weather and she was very friendly.  I offered her a Love Heart Ministries card and you would have thought I had offered a snake!  She said, “Ministry.  Oh, no.”  and handed back the card.  Thinking that she might have thought I was from a cult, I said, “No it’s not like that.  We just apply the scripture to daily life.”  Again she refused the card saying, “I belong to the ____ church.”

belong to JesusI so wanted to say, “But do you belong to Jesus?”

Matthew 7:21-23 says,  “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Love Heart, if you are planning to get to heaven because you are a member of anything think again!  The ONLY way you will get to heaven is by accepting the blood sacrifice of Jesus made on your behalf.

If you’re not sure where you stand, take a minute to talk with Jesus.  Gwen~

The Word

We live in a world where we are constantly propelled into the technological aspects of life.   Now, technology changes every 5 minutes so many of us think…what’s the use.  It leaves us confused and feeling a little stupid.

That’s the way many of us – even Christians – think about the Bible.  We may own one but as we read we don’t understand.  We become confused. We ask, how is reading this going to help me with the problems I’m facing?  Then, decide it’s not worth the headache!

It’s all in the attitude, friend.  If it’s important to you, you’ll keep at it.  Love Heart, God’s word is full of valuable information.

The Bible is a precious gift filled with resources.  It provides instruction, comfort, direction, peace, and much, much more.   God has a plan and has mapped it all out for us.

Commit today to reading your Bible and staying with it!!  Deb~

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  (Matthew 6:19-21, New International Version)
