God-Breathed

June 23, 2014 — Leave a comment

The Bible is a manual that reveals God’s mind. (2 Timothy 3:16-17),  16) ” All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be throughly equipped for every good work.”

It provides evidence throughout the ages that we can place our faith in Him.  It takes the guess work out of our life so we are free to make decisions.  It’s our guide to salvation and wise living.

The Bible is God-breathed, therefore we are instructed not to add or take away from it. (Revelation 22:18-19)

Many people ask…If I could only speak to God!  Guess what?  You can!  His word says He is active in every part of our  lives.

(Proverbs 19:20-21,NIV) 19) “Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.  20) Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it’s  the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Hebrews 4:12-13, NIV)12)”For the word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow; it judges the thought and attitudes of the heart.”

The Bible is a book for everyone.  Why not start reading it today and let God reveal His direction, wisdom, love, power, and character to you. Deb~

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  (Matthew 6:19-21, New International Version)

th (1)I find in my Bible reading, when I’m rushed, my mind flips back and forth between my reading and what I have yet to do.  Time with God cannot be rushed

Spending time in the word with the Heavenly Father, allowing Him equip and strengthen us, should be our TOP priority and your wisest investment! ~Debra

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” ( Psalms 119:105)    th (5)

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. …” (Roman 8:1-39)

What’s the Key?

April 3, 2013 — Leave a comment

th (1)This is one of my favorite times of the year.  It hasn’t gotten too hot here in West Texas and I can spend sometime out on the deck. It’s perfect for quite time with the Lord!

My devotion today was on understanding the Bible.  How many times have you heard someone say; I don’t understand what the Bible is saying, even believers?

The key to understanding the Bible is obedience.  When we act on what we read the scripture “comes alive.”  Think about it.  th (7)

Why should God continue to reveal his word to us if we are not going to obey it?

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding.  To Him belongs eternal praise.” (Psalms 111:10)

th (6)Obedience is the key . Deb~
