It’s Your Birthday!

November 30, 2016 — Leave a comment

This is the truth.  A birthday can have a strange effect on people.  Some celebrate for the whole week while others fall into a pit of depression.  Others, like my friend and ministry partner, Debra, don’t like to “make a big deal out of it.”

Here is more truth.  Every birthday you have is a gift from God, and in my opinion, it should be celebrated!  Listen to His word and see if you agree.

“All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:16b (NIV)

If it’s your special day, it was ordained by the Creator of the universe.  As He looks on you with love, He’s probably smiling as you celebrate the wonderful things that He has done in your life.

Now listen.  I know some have had a rough life and you may feel like there is nothing to be happy about, but I have Good News!  Jesus has come to set you free!  Sometimes, when things are beyond tough, He’s all that keeps me sane!

So, celebrate what He’s given you.  And, have a Happy and Blessed Birthday, Froggy!  Gwen~

79 Years Strong

April 25, 2014 — Leave a comment

imageToday is my father’s 79th Birthday, now that is something to celebrate!  What’s even greater, he is now a “doer of the word and not a hearer only!”

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22, NIV)

My father has always been a believer, but never felt the need to be part of a church fellowship or to make a public profession of Christ.

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.   But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.)  Matthew 10:32-33

As I entered adulthood and had children of my own, my father begin to come to church.  He still didn’t deem it necessary to make a public profession or to be a member of our fellowship.   His relationship with God was just that…between him and God.

th (1)I know with all my heart that my father has always been a believer and that his salvation was secure, but he was missing out on so much by not being obedient to God’s word.

Aren’t we all in that same boat?  As we read God’s word we are faithful in following some of his teaching, but some of it…well, it’s a little too much to take.  We find ourselves saying, “He wants me to do what?”

Believer, take that step to not only be a” hearer of the word but a doer!  As you do, your life begins to transform in ways that are just unbelievable.

On a side note, with love and prayer from fellow believers, my father did make his profession of faith and has never looked back.  He serves God with a passion as never before.  Never, ever give up!  God has a plan! (Jeremiah 29:11)~Debra

25 Days Till Christmas

December 5, 2013 — Leave a comment

th (3)My Christmas season always begins with my Birthday Celebration.  We gather as a family, decorate the tree and enjoy a meal together.

I love spending time with my family and as I look from face to face and realize how each has grown as an individual; I pray God’s riches blessings on each and every one of them.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’ (Numbers 6:24-26)

I believe as a mother one of my greatest gifts to my children is to pray for them  Join me and lift up your children to our heavenly father.

No matter what the circumstance; just pray and let God to the rest!  th (4)

I trust you Lord! ~Debra
