Oh Lord, I’m amazed by your wonder and grace.  I look at the life of a caterpillar as it is surrounded by its cocoon and how it struggles to become a beautiful butterfly.  In fact it must go through this struggle to survive.  The struggle is what allows the butterfly to become strong.

I pray as I go through the struggles of life that my eyes will stay focused on you.  I pray that I will allow your love to surround me through any trials and tribulations I might face; that I will emerge as beautiful child of God.

Discovery

Have you ever watched a butterfly struggle to free itself from its cocoon?  It takes a very long time.  I’ve always wondered why and discovered that as the butterfly struggles to free itself, nature is forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings, so it will be ready to spread its wings and fly.  If this process doesn’t occur the butterfly would be weak with shriveled wings and unable to fly.

Sometimes struggles are just what we need.  God allows obstacles in our life so that we don’t become crippled and weak.  He wants us to spread our wings and fly! 

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalms 46:1, NIV)

So when you ask for strength and receive difficulties, wisdom and received problems, prosperity and are given an ability to work, courage and receive obstacles, love and receive someone to help through troubled times, favors and receive opportunities.  Thank the Lord!

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstance.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:11-13,NIV)

Butterfly

Have you ever watched a butterfly struggle to free itself from its cocoon?  It takes a very long time.  I’ve always wondered why and discovered that as the butterfly struggles to free itself, nature is forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings, so it will be ready to spread its wings and fly.  If this process doesn’t occur the butterfly would be weak with shriveled wings and unable to fly.

The Butterfly Song

This is a wonderful song written by Brian Howard several years ago.  I remember my children singing it.

I know that it’s a children’s song but lets take a closer look!

 

Have you ever made the comment…I wish my nose wasn’t so long, eyes were closer together, hair wasn’t soooo red!

I know that I’ve looked in the mirror several times and made a similar comment.  Love Heart, we are “fearfully and wonderful made” (Psalms 139:14,NIV) by the creator.
