Archives For childlike faith

troubled

As long as we live on earth, we will have trouble.  That’s a fact.  Jesus Himself gave us this promise in John 16:33, “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Some people ask why there is so much trouble in the world, even to people who love God.  The news is chocked full of terror as those who would destroy all believers, and are trying to remove the name of Christ, press on with a vengence.  The answer is that we live in a fallen and sinful world that’s full of hurt and hatefulness and evil!

Remembering that God is always faithful, go all the way back to Psalm 116:3-4.  “The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.  Then I called on the name of the Lord; “O Lord, save me.”

Then verse 6 says, “The Lord protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, He saved me.”

Do you know what simplehearted means?  It’s not the same thing as a simpleton – a simpleheartedfoolish, ignorant or silly person.  Dictionary.com defines it as free from deceit; open; frank; sincere.  When I Googled simplehearted images for this article, guess what came up?  Pictures of babies!

Are you feeling stressed and in trouble? You are not alone!  Don’t try to use up every possible resource you can think of trying to solve the problem on your own.    Bow yourself before the One who is truly able to help you. Call on the name of the Lord with childlike faith!   He and He alone is the answer.  Gwen~

thI sing in the Choir at church and from my view point you see everything!  Some of you know exactly what I’m talking about.

This Sunday during our Worship; I noticed the children.  They were so happy to be in God’s house and enjoying the music with total abandonment.  It made my heart sing.

I wonder what would happen if we let ourselves go with childlike faith.  Believing that God is who He says He is!   If we surrendered ourselves completely to His promises and rallied in our Salvation.

Through the Holy Spirit within us; we could change the world! ~Debra     th (1)

Matthew 18:3 – And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

1234471_603795452996489_1016307001_nCharlie Brown is a character created by Charles Schulz; a wonderful American cartoonist.  Nothing ever seems to go right in Charlie Brown’s life, even though his heart is in the right place.

There are times of frustration, disappointment and heartache, but Charlie keeps going with his child like faith.

“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:2-4, NIV)

Oh, that we might learn a lesson from Charlie Brown! ~Debra
