Archives For creation

A little girl whom I love very much had some question concerning God as we drove home one afternoon.

She was asking questions about how the earth was made; where everything came from.  I shared with her from Genesis:

Then she says…God uses magic!

I almost had a stroke…I very calmly explained to her that God does NOT use magic.

Magic is a trick that is played on us to make us believe that the magician has done something fabulous!  Understand that I’m trying to explain this to a 5 year old.

Love Heart, God actually has the power to do the miraculous!

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1, NIV)

Check out the book of Genesis for the rest of the story and know that our God is not a magician …He is the creator! ~Debra

God Made Man

Have you ever heard of a hateful little thing called an ocular migraine?  I don’t know how they affect others, but this picture is exactly what they do to me.

Now the really weird thing about it is that I can tell when one is on its way because my vision becomes blurred.  I’ll close my eyes and sure enough, there’s the bright jagged line.  Fortunately for me, they are little more than a nuisance and usually pass before long.

Do you recognize the symptoms when things aren’t right?  Do you listen to your body?  It is a fabulous work, honed and made with incredible complexities.  Genesis 2:7 (NIV) says, “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

Mr. Darwin had a THEORY which is being taught as TRUTH.  Really, now, could you have come up from some blue-green algae?  That’s what I was taught in my college biology class.  Just because it’s written in a book certainly doesn’t make it so!

No wonder he looks sad in this picture (and all the ones I saw of him).  I’d be sad too if I thought I came from pond scum and there was no one greater than me!

Love Heart, we can’t pick and choose what we believe to be the truth in the Bible.  It’s a “whole shebang” kind of deal.  Either it’s all right or it’s not.  And if that weren’t the case, then how would you know which parts were right and which ones were wrong?

It’s too complicated to be that way, and God made it simple.  Have faith in Him and His word, the Bible.  If you’ve been taught evolution, please reconsider.  Just based on the fact that there’s way too much order in our world to have been left to chance is a big enough point to ponder.  Gwen~

Who He Says I Am!

Do you ever wonder who you are and why God made you?  I’m preparing for Mission Trip and the first song the children will be learning is “Who He Says I Am!”

Psalms 139:14 tell us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made…!  Do ever think about that?  Really think about it.

Yesterday it hit me that God thinks about me!  “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!  How vast is the sum of them!  Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.”  (Psalms 139:17-18, NIV)

Wow!  I was so excited by the time I left work I was singing this little song with abandonment.  I’m sure the people in the cars passing by thought I’d lost it!  Deb~

Acutally, I’ve found “IT!”  I’m a child of the King!
