Redeem: to buy back : repurchase . to get or win back to free from what distresses or harms, to free from captivity by payment of ransom , to extricate from or help to overcome something detrimental , to release from blame or debt : clear , to free from the consequences of sin .

“But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”(Galatians 3:13,NLT)

Scripts

May 23, 2016 — Leave a comment

Reading a story, watching a play or going to see a movie; what’s your motive? To see how the script plays out…right?

Have you ever heard the GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD?  (Matthew 26,27,& 28) Before the foundation of the World; God had a plan…a script!

A plan for every tribe,  for every nation and their salvation.  He used a host of characters.  Caesar Augustus, Mary and Joseph, the Parisees’ and the Sadducees and last but not least Pilate.

All doubted…Oh, how his disciples must have felt during those dark days of His crucifixion and resurrection.

But God had a plan to bring redemption through His son Christ Jesus.  Jesus paid the penalty for all through His death on the cross.

“For God so love the world the he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16,NIV)

The Cross…

April 27, 2015

What does the cross mean to you?  Some say it’s a symbol of Christianity, but let’s take a look at what it represents.

The cross was a torturous means of executuion but we believers have chosen it as a sign of faith.  To remove the cross from our teaching would leave our theology empty and powerless.

No one wants to consider the pain and sacrifice that Jesus endured on the cross for our sins.  We would rather hear of his love and provision.

Remember Love Heart, there is NO forgiveness without the shedding of blood.

“In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” (Hebrews 9:22, NIV)

Everytime you see a cross, remember it really was a means of torture.  Jesus was willing to sacrifice his life…the shedding of His blood, that you might have eternal life.

It’s was also an intrument of LOVE…~Debra

It’s easy to remember a man lovingly sitting with children. “…Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.              (Mark 10:14, NIV)

A Savior who carefully reached down and touched the eyes of a blind man; and now he sees!

“…he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.  “Go” He told him “wash in the Pool of Siloam”.  So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.” (John 9:6-7, NIV)

We stop and remember the lame man that friends lowered down through the roof just at the hope that he would be healed by Jesus.

“Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.” (Mark 2:4, NIV)

We see the love of Christ Jesus with people in need but why don’t we see it in the cross?

It’s personal and it’s real!!  Have you received what Christ did for you?  If not; I pray that today you would say yes…I need you living in me!

Admit, Believe, Confess…~Debra

A-Admit:   Admit to God that you are a sinner, Repent, turning away from your sin.  (Roman 3:23; Romans 6:23; Acts 3:19; I John 1:9)

B-Believe:  Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and accept God’s gift of forgiveness from sin.  (John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13)

C-Confess: Confess y0ur faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Romans 10:9-10, 13)

Forgiveness

image“The question isn’t whether we sin, it’s what will we do when we do sin!”

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8, NIV)

Christ alone paid that debt, the only thing we can do, is take it to the Cross!!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1: 9, NIV)

Forgiveness can be a hard thing for some of us to give or accept.  Thank God, through the blood and righteous of Jesus Christ, I AM worthy!       image

Our sins are forgiven as far as the East is from the West! (Psalm 103:12)~Debra
