Scripts

May 23, 2016 — Leave a comment

Reading a story, watching a play or going to see a movie; what’s your motive? To see how the script plays out…right?

Have you ever heard the GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD?  (Matthew 26,27,& 28) Before the foundation of the World; God had a plan…a script!

A plan for every tribe,  for every nation and their salvation.  He used a host of characters.  Caesar Augustus, Mary and Joseph, the Parisees’ and the Sadducees and last but not least Pilate.

All doubted…Oh, how his disciples must have felt during those dark days of His crucifixion and resurrection.

But God had a plan to bring redemption through His son Christ Jesus.  Jesus paid the penalty for all through His death on the cross.

“For God so love the world the he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16,NIV)

The script has been written…will you accept the victory? ~Debra

Problem vs Solution

March 27, 2015

Have you ever experienced a time when your back was against the wall and your problem seems to have no solution?

When this happens we need to remember that impossible situations are times when the Lord does some of His greatest work! He teaches us valuable lessons that we may not have learned any other way.

Philip knew that he couldn’t provide food for all these people.  Not in a million years!  And he answered…No way!  Another of the disciples Andrew, spoke up and said, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will it go among many?”

Of course, Christ knew what He was going to do. He wanted his disciples to see that there was a  plan and it was the power of God that would make it work, not man!

Now Jesus could have “spoken” all of this into being, but He chose to use people to accomplish His purpose!  Andrew searched, a young boy gave up his lunch, and the disciples distributed the food.  All the people were fed and they even had LEFTOVERS!!  Each step took trust and obedience even if it seemed crazy!

God knows your problems and how to solve them, but we have to cooperate.  It may seem unreasonable, but if we step out and obey He can do GREAT things through us.

And guess what??….It will be better than we ever imagined! ~Deb

Sisters

January 5, 2015 — 2 Comments

“As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.  She had a sister called Mary, who sat  at at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.”  (Luke 10:38-39, NIV)

This is a tale of two sisters and a choice…

Martha has opened her home to Jesus and the disciples.  Being a woman, she wanted everything perfect.

House cleaned, get out the good dishes…what to cook?!?!  I’m sure that Martha was barking out orders right and left.  This was Jesus after all!

WHERE was Mary?  She should be helping.

Martha was searching everywhere! As she rounds the corner her anger boils as she sees her lazy sibling sitting at the feet of Jesus.

Martha was having none of this.  She walks up to Jesus and demands that Mary come and help her.

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. ” (Luke 10:38-42, NIV)

Decisions…we have to make them everyday.

I have a hunger and a calling to know and love God more.  What about you?  Let’s look for the heart-to-heart intimacy that Mary longed for!

I must confess…I’m a Martha but I’m working on being more like Mary.  ~Debra
