As believers we are encouraged to bring others to church with us.  It’s wonderful to fellowship together, provide encouragement, and grow in the knowledge of God’s word.

It occurred to me as I read my Bible that people weren’t brought to the synagogue to see Jesus.  He went out among the people and that’s where they saw His power!

I’m not saying we shouldn’t invite people to church but that we should lead by example and that will bring them to the church.

When is the last time a family member, friend or co-worker saw something happen in your life that could only be explained by God’s power working in you.

“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power” (1 Corinthians 2:4).

We need to remember it’s not words that impact people; it’s God’s power working through us! ~Debra

Shadow

Gwen and I are on our way to an event with the Ladies from First Baptist Church in Eastland,Texas.

They selected our topic concerning… “That’s a Long Shadow your Casting!”  With the Holiday’s just around the corner it will get crazy sooner than we think.

We will have contact with friends, family and total strangers.  What will they see?

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf:  Be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:30, NIV)

Let others see Jesus in YOU! ~Debra

Tebow Mania

John 3:16…”For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

This verse has become one of the most searched on the internet lately.  Why?

A football player, Tim Tebow, quarterback for the Denver Broncos.

While in college at University of Florida, Tebow wore the scripture in eye black beneath his eyes.  It’s his favorite verse.

Another verse you’ll hear Tebow mention is…”Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Tebow has received a lot of ridicule for his beliefs but continues to stand firm on the word of God.

“In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted…(2 Timothy 3:12, NIV)

Tebow was selected in the 1st round NFL draft by the Denver Broncos but not everyone thought he had what it takes for the NFL.

They said, “He would never be a High School quarterback, never get a E1 scholarship…not good enough, not skilled enough, never win a Heisman Trophy,  never win a National Championship, never be a #1 round draft pick…they said, he never make it in the league…” (FRS Health Energy Commercial)

You will always have your naysayers…those who try to get you to conform to the world in order to be successful!

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  (Romans 12:2, NIV)

This week Tebow lead his team to a comeback victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He threw for 316 yards and set a single postseason single-game record with 31.6 yards per completion.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. “  (2 Timothy 2:14, NIV)

He has them talking!  ~Deb
