Early this morning, I stopped by Chick-fil-a to pick up some breakfast treats. As I waited for my order, I was drawn to their marquee. It simply said, “Faith over Fear.”
I pondered what they were referencing and finally decided it must be related to our upcoming Presidential election. Many in the US are crying out to God for Him to save us from ourselves. We are desperate for Godly leadership.
These days bring incredible upheaval throughout the world and in our own home towns. Even as we wring our hands and wonder what the future holds, we must again remember scripture.
Daniel 2:21 says:
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”
Although Daniel penned these words hundreds of years ago, our God has not changed. His wisdom and power stands, and He still raises up and removes “kings.”
In 1 Timothy 2, Paul urges us to pray for those in authority. And this is where we circle back around to Chick-fil-a in Abilene, Texas.
Our faith in the omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient Creator of everything must rise above our fear and uncertainty of the unknown in all things from a shaky job market to who will be elected President of the United States of America.
So, Love Heart, as you go about your day, give praise to the name of God and rest confidently that He’s in complete control. After all, He is the King of Kings, and remember to let your Faith rise above your fear. Gwen~
