Purpose

These little birds were considered to be of little worth, but scripture tell us that not one fell to the ground without the Father’s knowledge.  No “ONE” is forgotten by God.  We all have a purpose in the eyes of our creator!  ~Deb

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26, NIV)

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?  Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your father.” (Matthew 10:29, NIV)

Broken Heart??

At lunch I was listening to a commentary on the radio.  The man was recalling the death of his parents.

His mother’s death was a sweet time together. No words, there wasn’t a need for any.  She had loved him and been a wonderful uplifting example. He did however pray a blessing over her and thanked her for all she had done for him.

His father’s passing wasn’t a time of love and refection but the son still prayed a blessing over his father to which his father cursed him.

The man reflected on how this had hurt him but was reminded by the Holy Spirit even though his earthly father hadn’t blessed him but made him feel as if he’d come into the world as a negative…He still had his Heavenly Father!

You may have not had the best relationship with your earthly father but that doesn’t define who you are!  Remember if you are a believer, you are a child of the King.  And if you aren’t, you can change that!

God loves you with a love that is unconditional, Love Heart!  Just ask Him in and He can set you Free!!

A Fishing Story

July 1, 2012 — Leave a comment

A father and son left early on a Saturday morning to spend the day fishing.  They fished all day and caught nothing.  All day… and nothing!

When they returned home tired from their long day, each wrote down the events of the day.

The father wrote:  Went fishing with my son today.  Didn’t catch anything.  A whole day wasted.

The son wrote:  Went fishing with my dad.  We didn’t catch anything.  Best day of my life.

Isn’t it  funny how two people doing the same thing can have a  such different perspective? Time spent with a loved one can never be time wasted.

When is the last time you sat with your child and read a book?  Went to your parents and sat and talked about the events of the day.  Spent some time with your brother and or sister…or both!  Met up with an old friend.  Life is too short…take time and spend it with the ones you love!  Maybe a few you don’t…make amends.

We have no promise of tomorrow, Love Heart, do it today!!  (1 Peter 1:24-25, NIV, John 10:28, NIV)~Deb

Father’s Love

January 21, 2012 — Leave a comment

When I was a little girl, my mother, sister and I had gone on a trip from California to Texas for a visit with family.  I remember coming home to a beautifully redone bedroom.

Remember…I said my mom was with us.  My father did all the remodeling.  I’m talking down to the last detail.  Painted the walls, made us each a new twin bed, painted white with cubicle headboards, to put our books, dolls, just…whatever we wanted to put up there!   New mattresses and bedding for each of us, it was amazing!

Last but not least…a lamp on top of each headboard. You know, one of those white pretty bubbly ones with the pretty lamp shade.  It screamed beauty to me.

Why had my dad gone to all of this trouble to make us feel special?   It was as plain as the nose on your face to this little girl.

He wanted to let us know that he was thinking about us. That he loved and missed us.

You know, our heavenly Father is the same way!  He misses us when we are away and seeks to reignite our relationship with him.

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray the you , being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.  (Ephesians 3:16-18 NIV)

My family has instilled in me strength, faith, prayer and knowing that thankfulness is everything!

Love Heart, I know that this isn’t true for everyone.  Why don’t you start with prayer, “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29,NIV)

Seek him, he’s waiting…just for you!

Talk with God…let Him know your fears, troubles, and doubts. He knows already, but He wants for you to seek and trust him with everything.  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer an petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:6-7, NIV)

Have Faith that God will never leave you… “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)

Read your bible.  “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (Psalms 119:11, NIV)  “You word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalms 119:105, NIV)

We must never forget to be thankful. “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16, NIV)

You have a heavenly Father that loves you like no other!  ~Deb
