One Body…

August 9, 2016 — Leave a comment

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27, NIV)

A believer who tries to live apart from other believers is like a log that has been removed from a fire. Separated from the other wood, its chance of continuing to burn aren’t very good.  The more time spent away from the other logs, its glow will begin to fade and it will begin to turn cold.

Logs that remain in the fire and burn along side the other logs burn bright and hotter!

That’s how it is for you and me.  When we have the support and encouragement  of fellow believers we stay focused and on Fire for the Lord!

“You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14,NIV)

Hell – NO!

December 2, 2015 — Leave a comment

Hell.  Is it real, or is it imaginary?  Is it a place where one might spend eternity or is it some made up place to try to scare us into being good?  Unfortunately for some, it is a very real place.

I was watching television and heard a wife said of her husband that he was going to hell.  He laughed and agreed with her.  It broke my heart.  He obviously doesn’t have any idea what he’s talking about or he certainly wouldn’t be laughing.

According to the Bible, hell is a horrific place itself, but I think the realization that one is forever separated from God will be even worse.  Even if you are not a believer there is evidence of God all around you.  But in the isolation of hell, there will be nothing reminiscent of Him.

Some folks are of the opinion that there is some sort of middle place.  And there are those who are convinced that they will have another opportunity to come back as something or someone else.  That’s not God’s design.  When your days are over, you will either be with Him, or without Him.  No place inbetween.

Love Heart, the only way to avoid hell is through Jesus.  Do you understand how this works?  Really it’s quite simple.  The payment for sin is death.   To pay the penalty, Jesus took our place – He died so we don’t have to.  He paid the price.  Now it’s up to us to accept His payment.

Hell is not a joking matter.  It’s a real place.  Don’t go there! You don’t have to. Gwen~

Best Friends

April 3, 2012

Do you have a best friend?  I’m lucky enough to have two.  One that I share this ministry with and Juanita, we’ve known each other since we were 12 years old.

Gwen and I have been through some rough times, let me tell you, but this particular story is about Juanita.

What so amazing about our friendship is she moved 2 years after we met, but we’ve maintained that long distance friendship for over 30 years.

We have been through fire and flood together.  Shared the good times and bad…She has attended all my children’s weddings and was the first one I called when we lost our grandson.

Isn’t great to know that there is someone you can turn too and share your happiness and call upon when you need a shoulder to cry on.

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  (John 15:13, NIV)

Jesus is just like that!     Love Heart, in your moments of loneness, trial and temptation; turn to your Best Friend.  Jesus is always there! ~Debra
