My Song

imageThere are just days when I just want to pull my hair out!  If I allow myself to get wrapped up in the moment, I can do some serious damage.

My focus has got to change and the way I do that…a song! I start singing! Rejoice and be Thankful, Love Heart!

Channel that frustration and allow Christ peace to flow into you.

imageGod’s word often speaks of death being the key to life in Christ.  This is speaking of a Spiritual death, not physical.

When we become a believer our heart begins to change.  This doesn’t happen overnight, but each day we grow closer to our Creator, our perspective changes.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21,NIV)  image

Get yourself a pen and paper and ask yourself a few questions.

1) Am I living to please others?

2) Am I obsessed in finding a mate?

3) Am I a party animal?

4) Do I base my morals on others and what is pleasing to the eye?

If so, you are living for the world.  Living this way will leave you extremely empty and incomplete.  Freedom takes place when “we die to self” and allow God to give us the desires of our heart!

Take your focus off of “things” and put it on Christ!~Debra

Give Me Jesus

th (2)Father God, Help me to focus on what is important in life. I want to know you better. I want to share in your “glorious riches and be strengthened by the power of the Holy Sprit within me.” May I grasp, “how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ” May I be “filled to the measure of all the fullness of God!”  Oh Father, just “give me Jesus,” that my testimony would give you all the glory and praise!

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21, NIV)

th (3)I’m preparing for a trip in which I’m responsible for crafts, music and games.  I like to prepare the crafts before hand to make sure there are no problems.

I had all my materials and followed the instructions to T, but I wasn’t happy with the outcome.  I was very distressed and depressed.  All that planning, time, and materials; what do I do now.

Pray for my attitude; for one thing!  When things don’t go as you planned we need to accept them immediately. If we give into negative feelings they could quickly turn into resentment and will only lead to a bigger problem.

God is sovereign over our circumstances.  We should rejoice in what He is doing in our lives even if we don’t understand.

“I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

downloadOur test is to keep our eyes on Christ.  No matter what is going on around us.  When we stay focused on Christ our perspective changes.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” (1Peter 14:6)

Stay focused and trust Him in ALL things! ~ Deb


Tick Tock

th (1)I love musicals.  One of my favorites is “My Fair Lady”. There’s a scene where a bachelor kicks up his heels for the last time the night before the wedding. He reminds his buddies to “Get Him to the Church on Time” no matter what!

People are obsessed with time and living for the moment!  Don’t you think?  We have planners with dates and times.  Are we focused on things on earth or things above?

If I’m reading God’s word correctly we are to be focused on Him and sharing His love with others. Our time her on earth is not ours!   th

th (2)Each day we grow as we read His word. Through that growth we serve and share what He has done for us with others while waiting for His return.

“No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven,  nor the Son, only the Father.” (Mark 13:32,NIV)
