1 John 1:9

It’s been 40+ years since the infamous Roe v Wade.  Chances are many who are reading this blog weren’t alive then.   Roe v Wade is a US Supreme Court case concerning abortion on demand.  Now you might think that I’m going to address that issue, but I’m not.  I want to talk about forgiveness!

crying-woman           Many years ago, Charles and I were teaching a young married Sunday School class.  I was visiting at the home of one of the students when she began crying.  She had two precious daughters but was riddled with guilt about the child she had aborted.

Please hear this…God forgives!  Not just some sins, but all of them.  1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Purify.  Transitive verb:to make pure: as, a: to clear from material defilement or imperfection, b: to free from guilt or moral or ceremonial blemish, c: to free from undesirable elements (Merriam-Webster)

Jesus forgives those who come to Him in confession. Not only does He forgive, He restores! Your enemy, however, fills you with anguish and self-loathing.  Jesus has freed you, Love Heart.  Thank Him and lift up your head!  Gwen~

Break Free!

DO YOU HAVE a hard time forgiving?  Perhaps it’s an enemy or a loved one that has hurt you? Or…is it yourself?!!

I have learned through study, prayer and obedience to forgive others, but I have a hard time forgiving myself.  I seem to replay my sins over in my mind and allow satan to make me relive my shame.

Forgiveness is never complete until we forgive ourselves.  Break Free, Love Heart!  We can not survive on regret!

“He has not dealt with us according to our sins,

Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

so great is His lovingkindness towards those who fear Him.

As far as the east is from the west,

So far had He removed our trangressions from us.”

Psalm 103:10-12

Today lay down the guilt of sin at the cross and refuse to carry it any longer, then the Lord can use you more effectively.  Deb~

Dwelling

imageI did something today that I wish I could take back.  I know that it was the right thing to do, but it involved someone else and I should have consulted them before I did it.

I have the bad habit of dwelling on things like this to the point of it consuming my mind and depressing my spirit.

Yes, I made a mistake and there will probably be consequences, but I did ask the person involved for forgiveness.  Now that I’ve learned from my mistake; move on! ~Debra

Our Father

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:9-13, NIV)

King David

th (14)I’ve always marveled at the history of King David.  How a strong, spirit filled shepherd boy slew the giant, Goliath, with a sling and a stone.

He was anointed King of Israel by Solomon but didn’t take the throne for several years later, but David was faithful to God and King Saul.  All the while King Saul was trying to kill him.

When David did take the throne he was a strong and mighty King.  One day, David was in a place he shouldn’t have been and she lusted after another man’s wife.  He sends for her and she becomes pregnant.  In trying to cover up what he had done he had her husband killed.  Discreetly of course, but murder is murder.

David realized what he had done, repented and was forgiven, but still paid the consequences.

Love Heart, through it all, God kept his promises to David.  No matter what you have gone through or might be facing, God is faithful.  He keeps His Promises!

2 Peter 1:4 “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises.  These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” (NLT)

David is known as a man after God’s own heart!  ~Debra
