I Can’t…HE Can!

October 19, 2016 — Leave a comment

I have a friend that is looking for a new job.  She asked me if she could use me as a reference.

She asked because I’ve worked with her, I know her abilities, her good points and bad.  I know her heart.

Christ knows yours!  Have you ever been asked to do something for the kingdom and felt you weren’t qualified?

Paul, a disciple of Christ, never claimed to be qualified either.  He just learned to look past his own faults to the competence of Christ.  We can follow in his footsteps. (2 Corinthians 3:1-6, NIV)

  • Our inabilities drive us to Christ.
  • Relieves us of the burden of trying to do on our own.
  • We then draw on the Holy Spirits unlimited strength.
  • By acknowledging our weakness God can show what great things He can do through us.
  • When we trust on the abilities of Christ and walk in obedience our Faith grows

Why struggle when you know there is a job to do!   Call on the Holy Spirit; let him live in and work through you. He has ALL you need!  ~Debra

Best Friends…

Do you know why God made you and what your purpose is?  Your answers probably require some kind of action from you.

We think that in order to be close to God we must be doing something for him; busy work…singing in the choir, teaching a Sunday school class, leading or volunteering in our churches or communities.

And God appreciates those things, but what He really wants..”is a relationship with you!”  Time spent between just you and Him?

“I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship…” (Philippians 3:10, NIV)

“After he had dismissed them he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.  When evening came, he was there alone…” (Matthew 14:23, NIV)

Relationships take commitment.  It has to be a priority and here are a couple of ideas that work for me.

Quiet Time – Time I spend in the Word, imperative!

Prayer Walking – I learned this from a dear friend, Pat Dulude.  She rises early in the morning and just walks and talks with the Lord.  I like this because I accomplish three things: exercise, prayer and fellowship.  You choose the time that works for you.

I associate my time with the Lord like the time I spend with my best friend.  We laugh, we cry, we find solutions, we bear our very souls.  And how do you feel after talking with that friend you trust.  I feel renewed, ready to take on the world.

That’s how it is with Christ.  He wants to be your best friend and the best thing about that…He has all the RIGHT ANSWERS!!  ~Debra

th (1)Is there someone that you would love to meet, but their inaccessibility makes it impossible?  A dignitary, movie star, maybe a king and queen.

How is it that we hope and pray to meet those people who will never be accessible to us and probably couldn’t care less about us?

“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

I serve a King who is available day or night.  On the day he gave his life for mine; the division was broken, making Christ my constant accessible Companion. ~Debra   th

“And when Jesus cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.  At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.  The earth shook and the rocks split.  (Matthew 27:50-51)

thumbnailCAITTPWJIf we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.  If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.” (1 John 1:9, NIV)

We will all face trials and temptations. Some days we will fall short of our goal, question ourselves and our walk with the Lord.   No matter the storm, Christ is a solid foundation! (Matthew 7:24-27, NIV)  We may waver…but HE won’t!

Impurity, fears, unbelief, doubt, anxiety, lust, worries, adultery, pride, drunkenness, selfishness, anger!  You’re forgiven!  Let the love of Christ wash over you! Deb~

“We we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions.” (Psalms 65:3, NIV)
