Potential

November 15, 2016 — Leave a comment

I read a story about a great sculptor Michaelangelo.  He was moving a huge, odd shaped rock through a busy street..  “When asked what he was doing, the artist replied that he was going to release the angel within the stone.”  Before he put hammer and chisel to the rock, he could see the potential within.

God is that Artist, Sculptor, Designer who looks at you and sees more than you can possibly imagine.

He sees the gifts that he has designed within you   He knows exactly what your capable of and he knows the preparation that has taken place for you to serve in your church.

“All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.  The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, the form one body.  So it is with Christ.  For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body – whether Jew or Greeks, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.  Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.” (1 Corinthians 12:11-14, NIV)

Each believer was created to serve the church with his God given talent.  Let’s serve together for the Kingdom. ~Debra

Little ones are so much fun!  My cousin’s little girl, Shelby, is 6 and she is the funniest thing ever!

I find myself doing the same things with her that I did with our son.  When she was 4, when she said him instead of he, I couldn’t resist the urge to teach her the correct word. I have realized that’s because I am who I am.

Now, I’m not using the “I am what I am” card to justify bad behavior as I’ve seen some do.  But I am acknowledging that God wired me with certain gifts and talents.

While I love to write and speak, I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler!  No talent in the art department!  And, my singing is tolerable only if I’m in a group, but a soloist I’m not.

In Exodus 31:3 God says of Bezalel, “I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts, to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.”

Love Heart, you have come well equipped…fully loaded for the life God knows you will have.  If you’ve not figured out what that’s all about, find a Spiritual Gifts inventory on the internet and see how you fare.  And most of all, thank God for who you are in Him! Gwen~

Tool of the Trade

thLord, may I use the talents and gifts you’ve given to me to make a difference to those I come in contact with everyday,

I don’t want to exist for the sole purpose of taking care of my family, my home, and work.  I want to actually have the mind of ministry -to make a difference to those around me and to do Your will.

Please move and minister through my life to accomplish Your will.  ~Debra

25 Days Till Christmas

th (3)My Christmas season always begins with my Birthday Celebration.  We gather as a family, decorate the tree and enjoy a meal together.

I love spending time with my family and as I look from face to face and realize how each has grown as an individual; I pray God’s riches blessings on each and every one of them.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’ (Numbers 6:24-26)

I believe as a mother one of my greatest gifts to my children is to pray for them  Join me and lift up your children to our heavenly father.

No matter what the circumstance; just pray and let God to the rest!  th (4)

I trust you Lord! ~Debra

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.  There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.  There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-6, NIV)
