With the world spinning by at an incredible pace, it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind. With the television and magazines telling you that you must have the latest and greatest of everything to be happy, you can easily fall into a trap spawned from the depths of hell.
Paul experienced the highest of highs, as a well-respected Roman citizen, and the lowest of lows, imprisoned as a common criminal. Yet, in Philippians 4:11-14, he lets us in on the secret.
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret (my emphasis added) of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
What is the secret? Simply Jesus. Knowing Him and knowing who you are in Him is the secret to life contentment! As we celebrate His birthday, take some time to explore where you find yourself on the scale of contented living. Gwen~
