Archives For heart

With Christmas just around the corner I was reading both accounts of Jesus birth  from Matthew and Luke.

As I was reading from Luke 2:8 I could hear a little voice…Linus, from Charlie Brown as he recites the true meaning of Christmas.

Notice what happens when he says “Fear Not”…

We should all take note of the Gospels and the HEART of this little boy!

“And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”  (Matthew 18:3, NIV)

When you think about it…it all come down to the changing of your Heart! ~Deb

thInspiration, it comes to us all differently.  In a beautiful sunrise, the words to your favorite song, or a special person.

God works in mysterious ways…He gave me my sister, Laurie, who is deaf and mentally challenge to inspire me each and every day.  She has taught me so much in our 56 years together.

To find joy in each day, because we are not promised a tomorrow.  That it’s ok to be just a little bit mischievous, just don’t get caught!  And to fight, not only with my fist when others treated her disrespectfully (please note this was when I was much younger), but for those things, people, and believes I hold dear to my heart.

She is responsible for me being an overachiever!  I’ve always felt if she could do everything with such joy and to the best of HER ability…so can I!

Love Heart, find your inspiration, make a difference and do it with all your heart, mind, soul and strength!~Deb

Broken Heart??

At lunch I was listening to a commentary on the radio.  The man was recalling the death of his parents.

His mother’s death was a sweet time together. No words, there wasn’t a need for any.  She had loved him and been a wonderful uplifting example. He did however pray a blessing over her and thanked her for all she had done for him.

His father’s passing wasn’t a time of love and refection but the son still prayed a blessing over his father to which his father cursed him.

The man reflected on how this had hurt him but was reminded by the Holy Spirit even though his earthly father hadn’t blessed him but made him feel as if he’d come into the world as a negative…He still had his Heavenly Father!

You may have not had the best relationship with your earthly father but that doesn’t define who you are!  Remember if you are a believer, you are a child of the King.  And if you aren’t, you can change that!

God loves you with a love that is unconditional, Love Heart!  Just ask Him in and He can set you Free!!

imageGod’s word often speaks of death being the key to life in Christ.  This is speaking of a Spiritual death, not physical.

When we become a believer our heart begins to change.  This doesn’t happen overnight, but each day we grow closer to our Creator, our perspective changes.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21,NIV)  image

Get yourself a pen and paper and ask yourself a few questions.

1) Am I living to please others?

2) Am I obsessed in finding a mate?

3) Am I a party animal?

4) Do I base my morals on others and what is pleasing to the eye?

If so, you are living for the world.  Living this way will leave you extremely empty and incomplete.  Freedom takes place when “we die to self” and allow God to give us the desires of our heart!

Take your focus off of “things” and put it on Christ!~Debra

Charlie Brown

1234471_603795452996489_1016307001_nCharlie Brown is a character created by Charles Schulz; a wonderful American cartoonist.  Nothing ever seems to go right in Charlie Brown’s life, even though his heart is in the right place.

There are times of frustration, disappointment and heartache, but Charlie keeps going with his child like faith.

“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:2-4, NIV)

Oh, that we might learn a lesson from Charlie Brown! ~Debra
