Our Father…

March 27, 2017 — Leave a comment

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:5-14, NIV)

Prayer is a time to build that relationship with God.  Talk to him as if you were talking to your best friend…He is you know! ~Debra

I Wanna Sing, Sing, Sing

November 27, 2015 — Leave a comment

Do you ever have days when you just want to shout?  I’m talking praises and thanksgiving.

I love to sing…it’s like offering up a prayer.  It touches our emotions and allows us to lift up our voices to Christ.

I know that some of you are saying…I can’t sing.  Guess what?  He doesn’t care.

“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.  Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Know that the LORD is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”  (Psalms 100:1-5, NIV)

 Read that again

I love the children’s song…

I wanna sing, sing, sing

I wanna shout, shout, shout,

I wanna sing, I wanna shout, praise the LORD

When Heaven’s gates are opened wide, I’ll be sittin by Jesus side,

I wanna sing, I wanna shout praise the LORD.

When you think about it; we have a lot to sing about.  We are not promised smooth sailing as a *believer” but we are promised that He is preparing a place of us and is coming back for us.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”  (John14:3, NIV)

That’s something to be “Thankful” for and sing about!! ~Deb

Ahhhh, Heaven

1 John 5:13 (NIV) says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”  Know.  Not hope, or wish, or wonder, but KNOW.

Colton Burpo “went to heaven” at the tender young age of three.  His father, Todd Burpo, with Lynn Vincent, has written a book detailing Colton’s experiences in heaven.  You can check it out at www.heavenisforreal.net.

Like Todd Burpo, I too have known about and believed in heaven all my life.  But to hear Colton’s account makes it so much more “real” – so much closer somehow.

What do you believe about heaven?  Are your beliefs based on what scripture says, or what you might imagine it to be like, or even how it’s been portrayed in the movies?  Colton’s descriptions will astound you.  Amazingly, hearing his story of talking with Jesus was like putting on a warm sweater on a chilly day.  Comfort…sheer comfort.

Love Heart, do you know you’ll be with Jesus when you die?  If you’re unsure, talk with someone who can help you today.  Know that you will live with Him forever.  He’s crazy about you! Gwen~

Family

November 23, 2012 — Leave a comment

Thanksgiving has come and gone but what a great time.  As I reflected on the day I remember why I love it so much; family!

Loving on family that’s here and reminiscing about those that aren’t!  Family that is waiting for us in heavenly realms.

It is written: ” ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.’ ”  Romans 14:11, NIV

What a day that will be!!~Debra
