Past/Future

Philippians 3:13-14 No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven. (NLT)

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)

Hebrews 12:10-11 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (NIV)

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NLT)

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)

1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (NIV)

Satan would have us to dwell on our past; our failures…but Christ can set us FREE!~Debra

79 Years Strong

April 25, 2014 — Leave a comment

imageToday is my father’s 79th Birthday, now that is something to celebrate!  What’s even greater, he is now a “doer of the word and not a hearer only!”

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22, NIV)

My father has always been a believer, but never felt the need to be part of a church fellowship or to make a public profession of Christ.

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.   But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.)  Matthew 10:32-33

As I entered adulthood and had children of my own, my father begin to come to church.  He still didn’t deem it necessary to make a public profession or to be a member of our fellowship.   His relationship with God was just that…between him and God.

th (1)I know with all my heart that my father has always been a believer and that his salvation was secure, but he was missing out on so much by not being obedient to God’s word.

Aren’t we all in that same boat?  As we read God’s word we are faithful in following some of his teaching, but some of it…well, it’s a little too much to take.  We find ourselves saying, “He wants me to do what?”

Believer, take that step to not only be a” hearer of the word but a doer!  As you do, your life begins to transform in ways that are just unbelievable.

On a side note, with love and prayer from fellow believers, my father did make his profession of faith and has never looked back.  He serves God with a passion as never before.  Never, ever give up!  God has a plan! (Jeremiah 29:11)~Debra

Intense

imageGod’s timing is always perfect.  Scripture has shown us that time and time again.

Abraham and Sarah had to wait many years for the fulfillment of God’s promise, a son. Abraham was a 100 years old and Sarah 90 at the birth of their son, Isaac.  Can’t you just imagine the intense joy at the birth of this child?

“NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of things (we) hope for, being the proof of things (we) do not see and the conviction of their reality (faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses).” (Hebrews 11:1, AMP)

Love Heart, God has a plan for your life.  Continue to seek His guidance and wait for His timing and you too will experience intense joy! ~ Debra  image

Be Thou My Vision

thI bet I’ve had millions of ideas pop in my head in my life time!   Plans to bring about one of these hair brain ideas would develop within seconds.  I’m ashamed to say that none have been successful.

Why?  God wasn’t in it.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares The Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

Love Heart Ministries came together with a vision by one shared with another.  Both willing to used of God, but it doesn’t stop there!  th (1)

Spending time in the word and in prayer creates open communication between the believer and their visionary.

May God continue to use us to His honor, glory and praise! ~Debra

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy.” (Matthew 28:19, NIV)

Satisfied?

“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” (John 6:27, NIV)

Wow, that’s a tall order.  I don’t know about you but when someone mistreats me; my first inclination is to think of ways to get them back.  To ignore, to snub or my mind begins to race with what I should have said.

We must remember however that these things are used to build our character.  Will we trust God enough to know that He has a plan for our life?  Are we satisfied with Him being in control?

“I know the plan I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)
