Archives For Joseph

God, when I look at my loved ones and see all the heartache and loss they’ve been through.  My heart aches for them.  I’ve even been mad!

Joseph, a man of God, experienced heartache and loss, but thank goodness he worked pasted it all knowing God had a plan.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

If the events of Joseph’s life hadn’t been just as they were, he wouldn’t have been in the position to help his family or the children of Israel.

Oh God, that I would remember Joseph’s account from the gospel. When I encounter trials, may I seek to accomplish your purpose.

“Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)

Linus

With Christmas just around the corner I was reading both accounts of Jesus birth  from Matthew and Luke.

As I was reading from Luke 2:8 I could hear a little voice…Linus, from Charlie Brown as he recites the true meaning of Christmas.

Notice what happens when he says “Fear Not”…

We should all take note of the Gospels and the HEART of this little boy!

“And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”  (Matthew 18:3, NIV)

When you think about it…it all come down to the changing of your Heart! ~Deb

Away In a Manger

” While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.” (Luke 2:6-7, NIV) ~Debra

Joseph

This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.  Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.   She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.  But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son.  And he gave him the name Jesus. (Matthew 1:18-25, NIV)
