As I look as this scripture, it occurs to me that Moses is refusing the calling placed on him by our Creator. Can you imagine?!
It also occurred to me that we do the same thing. When was the last time you where asked to serve in some capacity and you thought of every excuse imaginable?
Are you not pursuing something because it has to be perfect? The perfectionist is worried about what other people think while others step out in faith and obedience.
I battled with this issue this past Sunday. I was asked to teach Sunday School. Immediately, I started comparing myself to the current teacher.
Lord, I can’t! Please don’t ask me! Choose someone else! After several seconds; I took a very deep breath and accepted.
“‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 2:9, NIV)
When God calls you to serve, He will draw on whatever skills you have to complete that service.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9, NIV)
