Tomorrow~

I have a picture on my desk of my husband and me that was taken about 20 years ago. We were going to a Christmas party. Even though it seems like yesterday, I look at that photo in amazement.

We were dressed in our finest – me in a great black velvet dress with big Texas hair and him, handsome as ever, in a tux. I couldn’t have dreamed in a zillion years that life would be what it is today. And, twenty years from now, should God let me live that long, I will gaze in amazement at the faces in another picture of days gone by and think the same thing.

How are you spending your life? Are you rolling along or are you living? Are you making it happen or letting it happen?

You know what I’m going to say! Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

It’s impossible to know what the future holds. Don’t run ahead of God, but don’t lag behind either. He’s created you with gifts and desires and purpose. Seek Him out and go for it! Gwen~

Strong and Courageous

Courage doesn’t always roar.  Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says…I’ll try again tomorrow.” ~Mary Ann Radmacher.

God’s word is full of people that showed great courage.  Here are some words to live by as you face those everyday challenges.  

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9, NIV)

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalms 27:14, NIV)

“When I am afraid, I will trust in you, In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid.  What can mortal man do to me?” (Psalms 56:3-4, NIV)

“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”  (Psalms 31:24, NIV)

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do everything through him who give me strength.” (Philippians 4:12-13, NIV)

“For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13, NIV)   

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, NIV)
