Archives For Lord

It was a bright sunny afternoon and I decided to get some fresh air.  It was a very calm afternoon. NO WIND, which is very rare in west Texas.  Birds singing, flowers blooming and their fragrance filled the air.

His presence everywhere.  “Thank You, Lord!”  I said. Yep, I said it out loud.   Instantly a gush of wind whipped across my body.  It came and went.    As if to say…”You’re Welcome!”

I stopped, just to take it in.  Reflect!   Now, you may think that gust of wind was just a fluke, but I know better.

I love having the assurance that our Lord is always near and I can talk with Him at any moment.  Praise His Glorious Name!  Deb~

Psalms 89:15  “Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.”

Do you every struggle with thoughts of doubt? I sure do.  I wrestle with my thoughts of doubt every day.  I question my ability and potential in almost every aspect of my life.

Am I a good mother, wife, co-worker?  How does my Sunday school teaching match up with others?  What about blogging for this Ministry.  That’s a huge one.  Am I listening to your voice Lord, or am I being self-centered.

You know what I’ve discovered.  The mind is a battlefield.

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”    (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, NIV)

That’s pretty good advice from Brother Paul.  Don’t let doubts get in your way!  Confront them head on as lies from the enemy!  Demolish them, he said!  If we crush them flat, they will never rise again.

I must…”take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ”. ~Deb

The Lord Reigns!

“Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!” 1 Chronicles 16:30-31 ~Debra

th (15)I work on the 5th floor and I find it amusing, when I get on with someone on the first floor and they are just going to the second.

I’m thinking to myself; why not take the stairs? It won’t take but a second and you’ll get some physical exercise.  th (16)

I’ll admit, I do take the stairs occasionally, but not as often as I should.  By the time I get to the fourth floor, I’m gasping for air and feel like by legs are going to cave.  In the end; I’m proud I’ve pushed myself and added this small exercise to my routine.

I wonder?  What would happen if I changed my routine and pushed myself to a more dedicated quite time?

Increased my time spent with the Lord; seeking his guidance and direction.  Have a time dedicated to listening!  What a life changer that could be.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33, KJV)

Early to bed, early to rise, seeking Him…a great routine! ~Debrath (18)

Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy!

th (13)The phones are ringing off the wall at work this morning at work.  Some callers are nice; others not so nice.  It can become very frustrating!

*Deep Breath*…I’m determined that I will not allow others to steal my joy!

Psalms 118:24 “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

I have to remind myself constantly not to complain about the things that happen during my day.  God is the author and creator and maybe there is a lesson I need to learn.  I should give thanks in all circumstances.  I know, that can be a big pill to swallow, but it can be done!  th (14)

God knows exactly what I can handle in a 24 hour period.  I can’t worry about tomorrow or what happened in the past.  I must live for today!

Philippians 3:13-14 “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.  But one thing I do:  Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, II press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”
