A Really Bad Day!

               Have you had a really bad day?  I mean, really bad.  You wanted to scream because you were so frustrated.  You were rude to your own family! It seems like those days come around much too often.  Grrr.

Here’s the silver lining to that dark cloud:

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23(NIV)

               Wow!  Because of His great love, I wasn’t consumed.  Because of His great love, I can try again tomorrow.  Because of His great love, there is a tomorrow.  Gwen~

Second Chances

I was watching a movie the other night about a young man who had been called into the ministry.  He ran from his calling and became a very rich investment banker.  Not a nice one I might add…

He had also left a young woman who loved him very much at the bus station expecting him to return.

Then story takes a twist…After 15 years he receives an invitation to come hear her speak at a church in a small town near by.  He decides to go.  As he’s racing down the road in flashy new sports car, it breaks down and who comes to his rescue but…an Angel.

This Angel announces that he is being given a Second Chance.  He is transported into the life he didn’t choose.  He’ married, has two girls, and is the Preacher of a small church. 

You can imagine the ciaos.  He struggles with resentment, anger, and bitterness.  After a time, He begins to see the love of those around him.  Prayers being lifted on his behalf…the love his wife and girls have for him.

One night he is called to minister to a dying man.  This man is not a believer and very old.  He shares with him the parable of the workers in the vineyard from Matthew 20:1-16.

He wanted him to realize that it’s never too late!  No matter when you decide to accept the Lord, our reward is the same, eternal salvation.

God’s mercy and grace is His to give as He sees fit.

The parable from Matthew indicates that several believers weren’t happy

Love Heart, celebrate God’s grace and mercy regardless of when a person come into His saving Grace.  It is never to late to serve and it’s never to late to accept Chris as your personal Savior.


CAUTION:  Scripture warns, that we have no promise of tomorrow!

Take that second chance to serve the Lord and rejoice when someone comes to serve Him, no matter how late they arrive.  ~Deb

“No one knows about that day or hours, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36, NIV)

thLamentations 3:40 tell us that the people decided to “test and examine” their ways and “return to the Lord.”

When is the last time you examined your ways? Have you strayed away from God in any area in your life?

Give yourself an examination and if there is sin there, repent and receive His mercy! ~Debra

For every dilemma, every anxiety, every attraction, every conflict, every sin in my life, there is a deliverer~Jesus Christ!

Thank You, Lord, for your sacrifice, your love, your forgiveness, your mercy, your grace.  The way you reach down and pull me up when I’m not focused.  

I ask for forgiveness and your guidance to stay sure-footed on the Rock of my Salvation and not fall into the pit of the world and all its enticements.  Help me to be God centered, not me centered.
Let me give you total control of my life! ~Deb

Have Mercy!

My friend, Cody Belyeu, sent me this great picture.  What does it remind you of?

This is what fills my heart – don’t you just love our God?  It goes way beyond the giant sacrifice He made for our sin, taking on death so we don’t have to.  It goes all the way down to our daily lives, every detail, moment by moment!  Listen to what Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV) says.  “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (emphasis added).

Aren’t you glad you didn’t use up your allotment of mercy yesterday?  When you got up today, there was a fresh supply of mercy waiting for you provided by the King of Kings!

As you understand all the way to your bones that He is watching you in love and is concerned about every small detail of your life, I believe it will make you love Him even more.  After all, what’s not to love?
