Archives For minister

Go for it!

For the last few years, my son, Charlie, has been a mentor to a younger kiddo who lives in our neighborhood.   Charlie has taken him to church many times, and God has saved this little one.  Charlie had the privilege of praying with him.

Do we look for opportunities?  Do we take our time to minister to those around us who need to hear a word from God by investing our lives into theirs?

When I talked to my new little brother in Christ, I asked him why he had made this decision.  He gave several reasons but one of them really touched my heart.  He said he wants to help others.  He went on to say that he has a friend who doesn’t know who God is.  Clearly he is bothered by that.  God has already started doing a work in this young life.

Do you know people who don’t know God?  Do you know some who know God but aren’t reconciled to him throught the blood of His Son, Jesus?  Sure you do.  They’re all around you.  Ask God to give you courage and opportunity.  Then go for it!

You don’t have to be a preacher, or a Sunday School teacher to help somebody find the redeeming love of Jesus.  You just have to be willing to share what you know.  Invest your life…you won’t be sorry! Gwen~

Oh, Canada!

This is King Lo, pastor of the Chinese Christian Gospel Church and his beautiful wife, Doris.  We will be leaving in 9 days on Mission Trip to fellowship with his congregation in Richmond, BC, Canada.

I am so looking forward to the “Family Camp!”  My group will be ministering to the children of this wonderful family of God.

We will be out in the middle of nowhere…you know, where the trees reach to the skyline and all you can see is the moon and the stars!  Thank You to our wonderful Creator!

We ask for prayer, that God would prepare the hearts of those we come in contact with, traveling mercies, and that we will dig deep into the word and come back with a story to tell.

Thank you dear God in advance for what you are going to do in our lives and the lives of this congregation!  Deb~
