Brain Food

image Studies have shown that walnuts are beneficial in the areas of memory and general thought process.

Wow!  At my age, I can use all the help I can get.  I love walnuts and they fuel my brain to boot!

What do you fuel your mind with?  Are you conscious of what you read, watch on tv or the movies you attend?

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2, NIV)

My mother used to tell me…”Garbage in, Garbage out!image

Truer words were never spoken, Love Heart!  Feed your mind with things of God.  Follow His direction and walk in obedience to His Holy Word. ~Debra

What’s the Key?

th (1)This is one of my favorite times of the year.  It hasn’t gotten too hot here in West Texas and I can spend sometime out on the deck. It’s perfect for quite time with the Lord!

My devotion today was on understanding the Bible.  How many times have you heard someone say; I don’t understand what the Bible is saying, even believers?

The key to understanding the Bible is obedience.  When we act on what we read the scripture “comes alive.”  Think about it.  th (7)

Why should God continue to reveal his word to us if we are not going to obey it?

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding.  To Him belongs eternal praise.” (Psalms 111:10)

What’s Your Guide?

October 23, 2012 — Leave a comment

How do you start your day?  Are you rushing to get the kids ready for school and yourself out the door for work?

Love Heart, I want to encourage you to start your day with God.  If you are to stand against compromise you must start each day with God’s word and make it your guide.

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8, NIV)

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’.”  (Matthew 4:4, NIV)

He will guide your way and the Holy Spirit will give you warning when temptation arises.  Obey immediately and don’t give Satan a foothold.

Start you day the right way; in His word! ~Debra

Understanding

My husband had gone to men’s prayer breakfast and to enjoy some skeet shooting with the boys and I enjoyed sleeping in until 9:00 which rarely happens anymore.

Fixed myself some breakfast and went out on the deck for my quite time.

Cool breeze, Bible and Dr Pepper.  What more could a woman ask for?

Hmmm!  Guess I should start practicing what I preach!   Deb~
