I Wanna Sing, Sing, Sing

November 27, 2015 — Leave a comment

Do you ever have days when you just want to shout?  I’m talking praises and thanksgiving.

I love to sing…it’s like offering up a prayer.  It touches our emotions and allows us to lift up our voices to Christ.

I know that some of you are saying…I can’t sing.  Guess what?  He doesn’t care.

“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.  Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Know that the LORD is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”  (Psalms 100:1-5, NIV)

 Read that again

I love the children’s song…

I wanna sing, sing, sing

I wanna shout, shout, shout,

I wanna sing, I wanna shout, praise the LORD

When Heaven’s gates are opened wide, I’ll be sittin by Jesus side,

I wanna sing, I wanna shout praise the LORD.

When you think about it; we have a lot to sing about.  We are not promised smooth sailing as a *believer” but we are promised that He is preparing a place of us and is coming back for us.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”  (John14:3, NIV)

That’s something to be “Thankful” for and sing about!! ~Deb

I was standing in the front yard talking with a neighbor when suddenly she began to choke!

I was very concerned and wondered what in the world.  After several minutes she was able to talk and explained a small bug had gone down her throat.

I asked if she was ok, then we hear someone laughing!  Hysterically in fact!

That someone…her husband!  I was so surprised at his reaction I just stared, dumbfounded.  I looked back to her and saw her giving him the look of death!  Between squeals of laughter…he stated:  “‘I’ve told you a hundred times to keep your mouth shut!!”

Now her husband was teasing of course, but how many times have you wished you could take something back you’ve said? Some thing you really should have thought through.  The book of James talks about this very thing!

Like-wise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boast.  Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.  The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body.  It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.”(James 3:5-6, NIV)

“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who have been made in God’s likeness.  Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.  My brothers, this should not be.” (James 3:9-10, NIV)

Love Heart,  I want to challenge you to meditate on James 3 and start holding your tongue!  Deb

A Rabbi…

th (1)A Rabbi asked his son, “Have you prayed today?” No, said the son,  “I don’t need anything.”

Wow, that’s a profound statement!   How many of us fall to our knees during a time of crisis , but fail just to praise Him for what He does on a daily basis.   I know that I’ve been guilty.

Have you ever spent the day, just Praising Him?  Not asking for one single thing?  It’s harder than you might think.              th

I’m so accustom to tapping into the source, Jesus Christ, that it’s like second nature to me.  I have to make a concious effort JUST to praise Him!

It’s hard not to slip in a request or two, but God knows your heart, He knows your every need.  Spend the day Praising, even in the storm, allow Him to work in and through your life.

Sometimes the journey is rough, but ohhhh, the rewards are boundless. ~Debra

You Weren’t There!!

“…And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” (John 12:3)   Mary was filled with awe for her master and poured her love and praise over him!

“For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.”… (Luke 7:47-48, NIV)

No one but the person being forgiven can understand the magnitude of “how wide and how long and how wide and how deep is the love of Christ.” ~Debra
