“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18, NIV)
Peter was arrested during the reign of King Herod and the church was praying for Peter’s deliverance.
Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. An angel of the Lord appeared and lead Peter to freedom. He thought he was dreaming. Then it dawned on him that the Lord had sent an angel for his deliverance.
Peter went to the house where they were praying for him and knocked on the door. When the servant of the house heard Peter’s voice she was so excited that she failed to let Peter in as she ran to tell those praying for him.…”Peter is at the door!”
Of course, they all thought she was out of her mind. They went to check for themselves
and found Peter at the door. Scripture tell us…they were astonished!
ASTONISHED!! Why is it that we are astonished when God answers our prayers? Isn’t that what we are longing for? Our hearts desire?? …He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him. (1 Chronicles 5:20, NIV)
Friends…God is in the business of answering prayer! “This, then is how you should pray:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, you will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil one.” ( Matthew 6:8-13, NIV)
Let’s turn our prayer meetings into a time of celebration and acknowledge Him! Deb~
