1 Kings 5:16-17, tells us of the building of the temples foundation. The stones were huge and perfectly rectangle in shape. Scripture says the stones were moved to the temple in a quiet manner out of respect for the Holy site. The foundation was constructed of “quality stone.”
If your foundation isn’t strong everything else will fall beneath it. “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (ICorinthians 3:11, NIV)
The need for a quality foundation is a lesson we must all take to heart. What types of materials are we using? Are we rebelling against God which causes a weak foundation or are we building on the integrity and stability of Christ Jesus? “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain come down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it do not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25, NIV)
Hearing, knowing and doing…If we aren’t doing then we aren’t building on the right foundation. “But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose and the winds blew and beat against the house, and it fell with a great crash.” (Matthew 7:26-2,NIV)
Listen to the voice of authority, Christ Jesus and build that firm foundation! Deb~
Facebook is immensely poplar. Many focus on how many friends they can accumulate. I don’t know that this is a wise move and many share way too much information.
I have two ladies that will be my Best Friend Forever. Ladies that have been with me through all kinds of situations and have given me wise council. When I say wise council, it is what I need to hear not necessarily what I want to hear. The speak truth, no sugar coating for these two.
Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. (NIV)
They’ve also held my hand through some of my darkest times. I love these ladies with every fiber of my being.
Proverbs 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (NIV)
Love Heart, choose your friends wisely! It’s not the quantity but the quality! ~Debra
