Bridal Falls

August 5, 2016 — Leave a comment

These trees are nestled in the middle of Bridal Falls in Canada.  Isn’t it just amazing?  Our God puts this master piece in front of us to view just because he loves us.

As I looked at the photo a story came to mind, “The Three Trees.”   It reminds us that God has a plan and if we place our trust in Him it will come out better than we could possible imagine! Deb~ Luke 2:1-7, Matthew 8:23-27 and Matthew 27:32-38

I Come to the Garden

October 19, 2014 — Leave a comment

Where did our Savior go when troubled.  Where did He go for strength, courage, comfort, and peace.  To the Father!  When Christ was faced with the supreme sacrifice, His life, He spent hours in prayer seeking the fathers will.

“I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses

and the voice I hear falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tell me I am His own,

And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever know.”

Who better to intercede for us than the one who has walked in our shoes!

Lord have Mercy, Christ have Mercy, Lord have Mercy on Us!  ~Deb

In West Texas there’s a sure-fire way to tell when winter is over – the mesquite trees begin to bloom.  And, scissor tail birds begin to arrive.  Oh, it may still get a little chilly, but it won’t freeze again.

In life, there’s a sure-fire way to know that you will spend eternity in heaven – a relationship with Jesus.  You see, He paid the price…all you have to do is accept the gift.

For the unbeliever, Easter may have been just be a new dress and some colored eggs, but for those of us who are bought by His blood, it’s a wonderful celebration of eternal life!

You know, the ones closest to Him couldn’t understand His comments about living again, but on Easter morning, they got the picture!

Love Heart, can you understand?  Your eternal soul will live somewhere after you die, either in heaven with God or eternally separated from Him in a place so hideous it’s unimaginable.  Mark 9:47-48 says, “And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where “‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.”’ Verse 48 is repeated from Isaiah 66:24.

Spring brings new life, and it is our prayer that today you will accept the sacrifice of Jesus for you, and begin your new life today.  Gwen~

Set Us Free

July 4, 2013 — Leave a comment

th (1)This 4th of July, I sit and reflect on the freedoms I enjoy as a American and as a believer of Christ.

I know that these freedoms came from great sacrifice.  I say, “Thank You” to those serving in our military and their families.

I praise The Lord for His sacrifice made long ago; on my behalf!  In Luke 4:14-19, Jesus returns to Nazareth, where He had been brought up and  He enters the synagogue and reads from scroll of the prophet Isaiah.

“The Spirit of The Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor” (Luke 4:18-19, NIV)

Jesus was talking about setting us free from spiritual bonds.  We are all born with a sinful nature and therefore, it’s slave.  Once we receive our Lord as Savior; those bonds are broken.  But even after our salvation, we continue to struggle with things that entrap us.   th

Jesus is our deliver:

  • The word of God protects us from Satan’s schemes.
  • Our Saviors spirit within us; protects us from temptation!
  • We cannot be controlled by things of this world…fear, guilt, jealously, bitterness, unforgiveness, which steals our joy!

We must learn to trust Christ in every situation.  Let’s celebrate our freedom in Christ!  Break free of the bondage of this world and surrender ourselves into His capable hands.

Christ can SET YOU FREE! ~Debrath (1)

Take Notice

May 27, 2013 — Leave a comment

It’s all around us, Memorial Day Sales.  The world would have us running around spending our day shopping and have a good ole time.

th (18)Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for men and women who have died while serving in the United States military.

Our family will be gathering for a time of fun and relaxation, but our focus and prayer will be on those who have served and died so that we might have that liberty.

Take a moment to “Thank” those who have made that sacrifice!~Debra

                   We Must Remember

We pause on this Memorial Day, a brief moment in time,
To bring close to our hearts those memories we hold so dear
Of the men and women before us who unselfishly put their dreams, their lives on the line.
Where danger lay as a stalker,
waiting to take away each breath, while the soldier
plowed with determination the furrows of death.

We must remember, we must, you and I,
those special heroes who chose to fly,
to fly the skies of blue that turned as dark as the midnight sky,
Their wings began to shudder as smoke choked their breath away,
And hope gave way to the resignation, “Today, I’m going to die.”
Treading the waters so deep and wide,
Men and women continued on their mission,
For God and country, their hearts would abide.
Surprised by attacks with brutal disregard for human life,
they fought to the end, knowing that life and limb would be lost,
whether of self or friend.

Yes by land, by sea, and in the skies,
they fought for our land,
they fought for freedom so that you and I might stand,
Stand for what is right, for what is good and true,
fight that we might say without fear, “God loves you.”

Yes, we must remember, for freedom is not cheap,
for lives and limbs were lost so that we might keep,
All the things that we can have and all the things we can do,
Like cars and boats and a house with a roof,
Like going to church without fear,
and reading the Bible where we find the truth,
The truth of knowing that whether we are red, yellow, black,
or white,

We are all God’s children and we need to learn to love one another as God first loved us.
For if there is to be peace on earth,
where all men and women are free,
it must begin with each and all of us,
let it begin with you and me.
