The Cross…

April 27, 2015

What does the cross mean to you?  Some say it’s a symbol of Christianity, but let’s take a look at what it represents.

The cross was a torturous means of executuion but we believers have chosen it as a sign of faith.  To remove the cross from our teaching would leave our theology empty and powerless.

No one wants to consider the pain and sacrifice that Jesus endured on the cross for our sins.  We would rather hear of his love and provision.

Remember Love Heart, there is NO forgiveness without the shedding of blood.

“In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” (Hebrews 9:22, NIV)

Everytime you see a cross, remember it really was a means of torture.  Jesus was willing to sacrifice his life…the shedding of His blood, that you might have eternal life.

It’s was also an intrument of LOVE…~Debra

It’s Puzzling!

When you ask my friend (we’ll call him Jack) how he is, he replies, “Living the Life.”

Let’s look at that for a minute.  Jack has everything money can buy.  His businesses have been very successful and have made him a very wealthy man.  He’s worth millions.

He always has the latest and greatest of everything.  Yet there is an emptiness inside him that simply can’t be filled.

You see, Jack does not have a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ, His Son.  He’s still living in rebellion against the One who created him without even knowing it!

Blaise Pascal said, “There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.”

Are you empty and searching?  Or, are you still trying to fill up your life with “things.”  Love Heart, take a look at Jesus.  He’s worth it all! Gwen~

th (6)As I was reading through the Old Testament, I was reminded of a stunning realization.  Every time they came before the Father confessing their sins, they had to bring a lamb for slaughter.

This also brought to mind what my Salvation cost my Savior.  He couldn’t have just died of natural causes.  Redemption couldn’t work without the “shedding of blood.”  Without it there is no forgiveness.

“And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” (Hebrews 9:22)

Love Heart, the flogging and crucifixion of Christ was a horrible, bloody mess.  It should be gut wrenching to us.  Have you thanked Christ for His sacrifice and His gift of Eternal th (5)Salvation?

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesian 2:8-9)

What’s in a name??

December 3, 2014 — Leave a comment

Jesus, name above all names!  “God is salvation”…it expresses both his identity and his assignment.

Did Mary and Joseph choose his name or name him after a relative?  No, Matthew 1:22-22 tell us that “…an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people for their sins.”

As we enter this Christmas season remember that Jesus was sent as a baby with a role and purpose!  To live and die as a man and give you the greatest gift you will ever receive…Salvation!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV)

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god” (Romans 3L23, NIV)

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8, NIV)

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23, NIV)

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, “and believes in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10, NIV)

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13, NIV)

Through His name we are given His purpose! ~Debra

Reject or Accept

June 25, 2014 — Leave a comment

Do you ever question if faith in Jesus in the only way to be saved?  Satan is very crafty.  He lies and twists God’s word to confuse us!  He would have everyone believe that sooner or later everyone will make it to heaven.  Is that what scripture tells us? We have a choice to reject or accept Christ’s gift of salvation.  “God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.  He who believes in Him is not condemned; he who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believe in the name of the only begotten Sod of God” (John 3:17-18, NIV)  The scripture clearly states that …“whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV).  We only have this time on earth to make that choice.  There are no second chances after death!

Why not make sure of your salvation today, and ask Jesus into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior. God promises eternity for those who make that decision and wrath to those who don’t.  “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; but whoever rejects the son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. “ (John 3:36, NIV) Do not be fooled by the lure of a second chance.  Remember, there are no second chances after death.  We have this life to accept or reject Christ! What is your decision?  Deb~
