Have you ever watched a butterfly struggle to free itself from its cocoon?  It takes a very long time.  I’ve always wondered why and discovered that as the butterfly struggles to free itself, nature is forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings, so it will be ready to spread its wings and fly.  If this process doesn’t occur the butterfly would be weak with shriveled wings and unable to fly.

Sometimes struggles are just what we need.  God allows obstacles in our life so that we don’t become crippled and weak.  He wants us to spread our wings and fly! 

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalms 46:1, NIV)

So when you ask for strength and receive difficulties, wisdom and received problems, prosperity and are given an ability to work, courage and receive obstacles, love and receive someone to help through troubled times, favors and receive opportunities.  Thank the Lord!

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstance.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:11-13,NIV)

Shortcomings

Shortcomings.  Now there’s a word for you.  We all have them yet most of us don’t really want to admit it.  We surely don’t want to look weak or vulnerable or appear to not measure up.

Here’s another thought.  Sin is exactly that…a shortcoming.  Not hitting the mark of being perfect.  Many of us don’t want to own up to that either.  But the truth of the matter is that we all sin, no matter how righteous we claim to be.

In fact, the Bible tells us in 1 John 1:8 (NIV) “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth in not in us.”

The bottom line is we all have fallen short – missed perfection.  We are all sinners because at one time or another we have all done something wrong.  It only takes one miss.

Now where does that leave us?  It leaves us in need of a Savior.  Jesus is the One.  First you need to admit that you’re not perfect.  Then you need to admit that you need a Savior.  Know this, Love Heart.  Jesus is waiting.  Let Him save you from yourself today.  Gwen~

Mighty to Save!

We do serve a Mighty God and we do have a purpose! ~Debra

th I was recently called for jury duty.  We started with 200, then down to 36.  Those 36 were brought into the court room and presented with some facts concerning the law.  Next we were asked some questions.  The lawyers need to know who might serve as a fair and impartial juror.

We were excused while they made their selection.  It turns out that the defendant decided to plead guilty.

This is how it was explained to me.  This was the defendant’s third offense.  If the jury found him guilty, he would serve 99 years. If he pleaded guilty, he would serve 10.

He was guilty all along!  We can say all sorts of things about this person but we are in the same boat.

th (9)Guilty…”for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23, NIV)

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8, NIV)

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  (Romans 6:23, NIV)

Anyone can receive forgiveness, even this young man.  It’s all in the asking.  If you haven’t made a decision for Christ, I pray that you will do so today.

“That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10, NIV)

All Is Well!
