Sonflower

I just love Sunflowers, don’t you?  They’re so bright and cheery, bold yet comfortable.

The leaves are heart shaped; they stand proud and strong, faces raised as a reflection of God’s love.  Did you know that there isn’t much that can stop a sunflower from growing?  These bold flowers are very persistent.

I’ve seen them take root and push through cracks in concrete.  This unique flower also draws impurities from the soil and still blooms into a beautiful creation.

This bright yellow flower is a constant reminder to me I will face obstacles, but if I push through and allow God to sift away the impurities, there are seeds of hope awaiting me.

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” (Hebrews 10:36, NIV)

Just as the sunflower is drawn by the sun, we are sought by His Son!!~Debra

Throw it out there….

Matthew 13:3 tells us…”A farmer who went out to sow his seed.  Some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil.  It spring up quickly, because the soil was shallow.  But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.   Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.  Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

What exactly is this parable saying?  “When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.  This is the seed sown along the path.  The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.  But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time.  When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.  The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.  But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it.  He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”(Matthew13:18-23, NIV

Ok, so what’s my role in all of this?  I’m just to scatter the seed.  Throw it out there!  God is responsible for the harvest! (Matthew 9:37, NIV)  Deb~
