Wind turbines can generate electric power anywhere the wind is blowing strong and steady.  The momentum of the moving air propels the large blades that are attached to the source that produces the electric energy.

Prayer generates power when you tap into the right source.  The momentum doesn’t come from our power but the one who’s being prayed to.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he ears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1John 5:14-15, NIV)

Prayer is not used as if we have a “secret formula”…it’s not based on how we pray, if we use fancy words, pray in a certain place, or repeat the same prayer over and over (Matthew 6:5).

It’s the source of the power that we should seek…  “Because you have so little faith.  I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.”  (Matthew 17:20, NIV)

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, NIV)

Which Way to Go?

                We all struggle with choices every day.  This or that?  Here or there? Up or down? Buy or save?  It just goes on and on.

Sometimes it’s hard to find our way, but listen to what the wisest man ever born has to say in Proverbs 14:12.  “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”

Then Jesus gives us this anchor in John 14:6.  “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.  If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well.  From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Love Heart, Jesus is God with skin on!  He and He alone is the way.  Many believe there are multiple ways to get to heaven.  If you’re amongst those, my words will not convince you otherwise, but if you seek the One True God, I promise you that He will reveal Himself to you.

               Here’s the promise.  Jeremiah 29:13-14a  says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you, declares the Lord.”

Please, before another day passes, seek His face.  Gwen~

Seek Him

I have a question for you this beautiful December morning.  Do you seek God with all your heart?

imageSeek?  Hmmm, what do you mean by seek.  Let’s put it this way, have you ever seen a woman seek at a 75% off sale?  Or, how about that hunter that sits out in the cold for hours just to shoot Bambi.

It’s important to them so it’s done with urgency!

“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29: 12-13)

Oh, Love Heart, my prayer for you is that you would truly seek Him! ~Debra

image For this reason I kneel before the Father,  from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,  may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Rest and Relaxation

th (5)There are times when I’m so tired that I don’t know if I can put one foot in front of the other.  More often than not, it’s mental more than physical.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Give your mind a break from constant stress.  Stop thinking and making judgments about people and situations in your life and REST IN ME, Jesus Christ.  I created you for a personal one on one relationship.                                                                                                                                                                    Know ME!th (6)

JOY, JOY, JOY, JOY

th (1)We are meant to experiences the fullness of our salvation.  The Lord wants us to have JOY in His constant and unconditional love.

We look at ourselves in the mirror each morning and judge ourselves by how we look or feel.  When we are on the right track and things are going well, we feel worthy of  Christ’s love.  However, when we are discouraged, we try to correct whatever is wrong.

Love Heart, fix your eyes on Jesus, the Lover of your soul.  Christ sees us clothed in His  righteousness; seek Him!

“Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest whom we confess.  (Hebrews 3:1, NIV)
