“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (1 Timothy 6:10, NIV)
If you are one of those who have an abundance…have you considered what God might have you to do with some of your money? Some day we will give an account of ourselves to the Lord! “So each of us will give an account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12, NIV)
- He invested everything in himself and nothing on spiritual matters! (Matthew 6:19-21,NIV)
- He thought only about his needs and not the needs of others! (Luke 10:27,NIV)
We see another rich man repeat these mistakes in another parable. The wealthy man tears down his barns and build bigger ones to store his grain…(Luke 12:16-21,NIV) “But God said to him, ‘You fool!’ This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”
The Bible repeatedly urges us to care for the lost and hurting people. We are reminded to pay attention to spiritual matters and to give God first place in our lives.
If you’ve spent this last year focused on yourself, I urge you to start the New Year off right…New Year, New You!
Happy New Year!~Deb
