ABC’s

imageOne of the things we enjoy sharing with people is the “Love of Christ.” He loved us so much that He gave His only son!

Becoming a Christian can be as simple as knowing your ABCs.

A-Admit: Admit to God that you are a sinner, Repent, turning away from your sin. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Acts 3:19; I John 1:9)

Everyone has a problem with sin.  God’s word tells us the first step is admitting that we are a sinner and seperated from God because of it.  This step includes turing from sin (repentence) and self and turning to God.   image

B-Believe: Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and accept God’s gift of forgiveness from sin. (John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13)

Salvation is offered to all who believe!

C-Confess: Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Romans 10:9-10, 13)

imageAfter you have confessed your sin, asked Jesus into your heart, tell someone.  Your Pastor or another believer.  Then talk with your Pastor or friend about the next step, baptism by immersion, as an expession of your faith and obedience.

Matthew 28:19-20, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

As you study these scriptures…seek Him and His salvation. Deb~

Seven Words

th (1)If you were standing at the pearly gates and were asked why you should be allowed into heaven, what would you say??

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.  The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.  I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’  “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Luke 18:10-14, NIV)

th (19)“Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. Ask, Seek, Knock

July 13, 2011 — 2 Comments

Have you ever needed something badly but just couldn’t justify spending the money?

We are in need of a car.  Now, that’s not a small purchase so we are really praying and waiting on God’s direction. We want to be good stewards of what God has given us and don’t want to stretch ourselves out of God’s will.

Matthew 7:7 tells us:  “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For
everyone who ask receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Now keep in mind that doesn’t mean we get everything our little heart’s desire.  It must be within God’s will for our lives.

Matthew continues with: “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?  If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Simple…we are sinners and give willingly to our loved ones, how much MORE will our heavenly father, who is without sin, gives us if we ask!

Now, we’ve been asking for God’s direction on this issue for
about 2 years.  Yea, that’s a long time by most standards but we know that God has a plan for our lives. (Jeremiah29:11, NIV)

When you don’t get the response you want within a certain time…wait!  Silence in your life and mine is always good.  God is asking…do you want your best or MINE!

God supplied our request for a vehicle this morning!  It’s a beautiful car, within our budget and we couldn’t be happier.  Just think what would have happened if we stepped out on our own…Thank You, Lord for your provision.

God does care about the little things in our lives!!  Deb~
