At midnight, I was wide awake. As I scanned the TV for something to put me to sleep, I noticed the variety of things that a person can get to help shape up their body parts. If you need to be perkier or flatter or tighter there’s something you can buy to help you along. But the underlying message is, “If yours isn’t, it should be.”
I have a saying that’s all my own. It’s, “No matter where you go, there you are.” Sounds pretty simple, but take a deeper look. It means that regardless of where you go, what you look like, or who you’re with, the you that only you and God know is still there. The you that suffers from temper issues. The you that can’t be satisfied because you think you’re ugly or unworthy. In other words, you can’t make a fresh start anywhere with the old you still in tow – no matter what you do!
Some years ago, Robert S. McGee wrote a fantastic book called The Search for Significance. Here’s the blurb: WE CAN BUILD OUR SELF-WORTH ON OUR ABILITY TO PLEASE OTHERS, OR ON THE LOVE AND FORGIVENESS OF JESUS CHRIST. He hits the nail squarely on the head. The book/workbook is available at www.amazon.com and is definitely worth reading. Check it out.
Love Heart, let God do your extreme makeover from the inside out. Flabby and saggy are only temporary. One day you will lay your “tent” down and the real you will either be joined with the Father or eternally separated from Him forever depending on what you’ve decided about Jesus. But while you’re earth bound, be all He created you to be. Base your significance on who you are in Christ, not how flat your abs are! Gwen~
