I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with Thanksgiving(Psalm 69:30)

Just for You!

My back yard is an absolute wreck!  It’s so dry here in west Texas that the grass crunches under your feet.  Our lawn looks like something out of a horror movie.  Check out this picture my son, Charlie, took.

Totally unexpected and completely without reason, this beautiful sunflower sprang up.  My husband feeds the birds, so it must have been one of those random seeds that took root.  It definitely wasn’t planted.

Can you imagine how happy I was to see that flower spring up from the badlands of our yard?  It seemed like God Himself personally handed it to me.

Are you able to imagine that He enjoys every little aspect of our lives?  Give this your attention – Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) says, “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

Have you ever considered the Creator of the universe taking delight in you?  And singing over you?  Oh, Love Heart, love Him today.  He’s madly in love with you.  Gwen~

James instructs us to be joyful even in times of trial!  “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” (James 1:2-3, NIV)

You know the world seems to think that because we are believers that we will never face a trial or temptation.

Love Heart, God doesn’t promise us a bed of roses once we have accepted Him as Savior and Lord, but what He does promise is that “…he will never leave us or forsake us.”

Having a grateful heart can be a challenge. Gratitude can’t be based on our circumstances but by the knowledge of God’s mercy and love.

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1Thessalonians 5:16-18, NIV)

Thanksgiving Day is a time to give thanks, of family gathering and food galore.  Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie!

Have you ever sat down and thought what you’re truly “Thankful” for?  I wanted to think of a fun way to share this Holiday with my grandgirls.  Instill in them that it is more than a Day…it’s your life.

Let’s take the Alphabet and each day of November…starting with A, then B, then C,… think of something to be Thankful for starting with that letter!  I will post each day a word and would love to hear back from you…your word.

“They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness” (Psalms 145:7, NIV)

God is good…all the time!  He is so good to us in every area of our lives.  He provides, guides, comforts and gives a peace that passes all understanding.

“Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.” (Jude  :2, NIV)

“For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17, NIV)

Let’s meditate on God’s abundance today ~Deb
