Truth or Dare

November 21, 2016 — Leave a comment

Do you ever question if faith in Jesus in the only way to be saved?  Satan is very crafty.  He lies and twists God’s word to confuse us!  He would have everyone believe that sooner or later everyone will make it to heaven.  Is that what scripture tells us?

We have a choice to reject or accept Christ’s gift of salvation.  “God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.  He who believes in Him is not condemned; he who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believe in the name of the only begotten Sod of God” (John 3:17-18, NIV)

The scripture clearly states that …”whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV).  We only have this time on earth to make that choice.  There are no second chances after death!

Why not make sure of your salvation today, and ask Jesus into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior. God promises eternity for those who make that decision and wrath to those who don’t.  “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; but whoever rejects the son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. ” (John 3:36, NIV)

Do not be fooled by the lure of a second chance.  Remember, there are no second chances after death.  We have this life to accept or reject Christ!

What is your decision?  Deb~

Miserable

I had a weekend full of temptation and I must confess I failed miserably.

I imagehave Celiac Disease.  Celiac disease is a condition that damages the lining of the small intestine and prevents it from absorbing parts of food that are important for staying healthy. The damage is due to a reaction to eating gluten, which is found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats.

This definition only contains a small list of the things that have gluten in them.  It’s everywhere!!

I know that we all face temptation on a daily basis and this is very minor compared to some, but it is something I struggle with.

“When tempted, no one should say, God is tempting me. For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he temp anyone, but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.” (James 1:13-14) image

In my mind, I tell myself it won’t hurt just this one time!  The truth is; it’s killing me.  Seriously!   I need to resign myself to the fact that I can’t have certain things because they are not good for me!!

“Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” (James 1:15-16)

It’s a mindset!  We must resign ourselves to the fact that some things are just not good for us and will ultimately destroy us.

Let us pray to our Father for strength to resist temptation! ~Debra

Shortcomings

Shortcomings.  Now there’s a word for you.  We all have them yet most of us don’t really want to admit it.  We surely don’t want to look weak or vulnerable or appear to not measure up.

Here’s another thought.  Sin is exactly that…a shortcoming.  Not hitting the mark of being perfect.  Many of us don’t want to own up to that either.  But the truth of the matter is that we all sin, no matter how righteous we claim to be.

In fact, the Bible tells us in 1 John 1:8 (NIV) “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth in not in us.”

The bottom line is we all have fallen short – missed perfection.  We are all sinners because at one time or another we have all done something wrong.  It only takes one miss.

Now where does that leave us?  It leaves us in need of a Savior.  Jesus is the One.  First you need to admit that you’re not perfect.  Then you need to admit that you need a Savior.  Know this, Love Heart.  Jesus is waiting.  Let Him save you from yourself today.  Gwen~

BFF

thFacebook is immensely poplar.  Many focus on how many friends they can accumulate.   I don’t know that this is a wise move and many share way too much information.

I have two ladies that will be my Best Friend Forever.  Ladies that have been with me through all kinds of situations and have given me wise council.  When I say wise council, it is what I need to hear not necessarily what I want to hear.  The speak truth, no sugar coating for these two.    th (1)

Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. (NIV)

They’ve also held my hand through some of my darkest times.  I love these ladies with every fiber of my being.

Proverbs 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (NIV)
