Understanding

April 15, 2015 — Leave a comment

My husband had gone to men’s prayer breakfast and to enjoy some skeet shooting with the boys and I enjoyed sleeping in until 9:00 which rarely happens anymore.

Fixed myself some breakfast and went out on the deck to have my quite time.

Cool breeze, Bible and Dr Pepper.  What more could a woman ask for?

My devotion was on understanding the Bible.  How many times have you heard someone say they don’t understand what the Bible is saying, even believers?

The key to understanding the Bible is obedience.  When we act on what we read the scripture “comes alive.”

Why should God continue to reveal his word to us if we are not going to obey it?  “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding.  To Him belongs eternal praise.” (Psalms 111:10)

Obedience is they key to understanding! Deb~

th (2)A Love Heart Ministry reader asked,  “I have a question.  When something bad happens and it’s sad and it happens again, even though you pray from the time you wake up to the time you to bed, but it still happens; what do you do?”

I pray, Love Heart, I pray.  I stop and affirm my trust in Him!  It not always easy, but I bring the matter to Christ and leave it in His capable hands.

I must stay in touch with Him through prayer and the reading God’s word or I’ll lose my way!  I pray for wisdom and strength to trust Him in all things! ~Debra

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways submit to him,and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)

th (3)I’m preparing for a trip in which I’m responsible for crafts, music and games.  I like to prepare the crafts before hand to make sure there are no problems.

I had all my materials and followed the instructions to T, but I wasn’t happy with the outcome.  I was very distressed and depressed.  All that planning, time, and materials; what do I do now.

Pray for my attitude; for one thing!  When things don’t go as you planned we need to accept them immediately. If we give into negative feelings they could quickly turn into resentment and will only lead to a bigger problem.

God is sovereign over our circumstances.  We should rejoice in what He is doing in our lives even if we don’t understand.

“I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

downloadOur test is to keep our eyes on Christ.  No matter what is going on around us.  When we stay focused on Christ our perspective changes.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” (1Peter 14:6)

Stay focused and trust Him in ALL things! ~ Deb
