Archives For universe

Has your world ever been turned so upside down that all you could do was cry out to God?  Mine has-many times. Honestly, I just don’t know what I would have done if I couldn’t have called on Him.  I’ve been so upset that I couldn’t even put words to my prayer…all I could do was call out His Holy Name!  And, I knew He was the only one Who could help.

Love Heart, if you don’t have an intimate relationship with Jesus, today might be the day for you to start one.  He’s waiting!  He’s not somewhere way out in the universe and untouchable.  He’s got His full attention turned toward you, always…and He’s waiting!  In John 14:6 Jesus Himself says, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  He is faithful.  You will not be disappointed! Starry, Starry Night

February 6, 2017 — Leave a comment

A while back on a news website, there was a piece on the sound a star makes.  What?!  Yep, the sound a star makes.  I clicked on the audio portion and my body was immediately covered in goose bumps from head to toe.

I don’t think it was the repetitive droning sound that had that effect on me.  I think I was overwhelmed by the fact that so very, very far away, the splendor and majesty of the Creator is on display. Just because we had not heard it until now didn’t mean that for generations unknown the star wasn’t singing its song!

The Hubble telescope brought pictures of those distant worlds to us – spectacular in ways we couldn’t imagine.  Hear the word of the Lord~

Genesis 1:1  “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”

Genesis 1:14-18  “And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.  And it was so.  God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night.  He also made the stars.  God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.  And God saw that it was good.”

What else is there to say? Gwen~

I picked up the book about Steve Jobs’ life and flipped to the back and read the last several paragraphs hoping to learn something about his theology.

Sadly, according to the book, he was about 50% sure there was something greater out there, but there was no mention of a relationship with Jesus.

For those of you who are of that same opinion, let me say yes, there is something much greater out there and He is God.  Now think about it.  Does evolution and big bang really make sense?  Does happenstance really fit what you see in nature around you today?  Do you not see way too much order in the universe for it to have just sort of happened?

If you can get a copy of the scripture, please do, and read it.  How the universe, and we, came about is all written down so you can understand what happened.  Where was God before He created the world?  Where did He come from?  I don’t have a clue, but then again, I’m not going to be called on to answer that.

However, I will be called on to give an accounting of my life.  Thankfully, part of that story will be that I have accepted Jesus’ blood for the covering of my many sins.

Love Heart, there is a spiritual realm to life.  You have not sprung up by chance and been left to your own devices.  The scripture says in Isaiah 55:6,Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”  He’s waiting to hear from you.  Gwen~

I read a story recently about a man who loved animals.  He worked from his house and his front door would not stay closed unless it was locked.  The man rarely bothered to lock it.

One day he was working and heard his front door open.  He went to see what the noise was and discovered that a neighborhood dog named Buster had pushed it open.

The man gave Buster a treat and ruffled his ears a bit.  The dog returned each day.  He would push the door open and wait for the man to come to him.  He never barged his way in or begged for his treat.  He just waited patiently until the man came to him and he always came.

As the weeks went by Buster started bringing some of his friends with him.  Sometimes these furry friends wouldn’t go home! People would smile as they went by the man’s house.  The front door would be open and they knew that he was inside enjoying the fellowship of Buster and his friends.

This man showed love.  The ones he shared with shared and look what happened.   Unconditional Love and fellowship.  I think we all want a little be of that!  Reach out and share the love of Christ.   Someone is waiting for an invite!!  Deb~

1 John 4:7-8  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

The Gray Matter

The brain is a magnificent piece of ingenuity.  Different parts of the brain are responsible for different functions.  There is the math area, the speech area, the motivation area.  There is the processing and decision making part.  Then there is the whole left-brain, right-brain thing.  But, what about wisdom and understanding?

In Job 38:36, God is addressing Job, and it ain’t a pretty sight.  God says, “Who endowed the heart with wisdom or gave understanding to the mind?”  The answer?  God – and God alone.  Don’t try to compare yourself to Him.  You’ll come out on the short end of the stick every time.  There is none like Him and all you do is frustrate yourself when you try to take on His role.

When God begins to address Job, the majesty of the universe unfolds leaving the reader completely awestruck.  If you have a little time, read it for yourself.  If you’ve never read it, prepare yourself to be blown away by the awesomeness of your Creator.  Gwen~
