You’re Invited!!

December 15, 2014 — Leave a comment

With all the parties and festivities of the Holiday’s, I’ve received several invitations to upcoming events.  The invites usually list the event, date, time, place and last but not least… RSVP.

One invite I enjoy the most…Weddings! Especially during the holidays, all the beautiful music, color, candlelight and delicious food, how could you resist?

Matthew 22, tells a parable of a wedding banquet.  A king sent his servant to everyone who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused.

He sent them again to tell them he had prepared the dinner: “My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready.  Come to the wedding banquet.”

But they paid no attention and abused the servants that he had sent.

“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready but those I invited did not deserve to come.”  So they went out and invited anyone they could find.  Good and bad and the wedding hall was full.

Love Heart, these people had a choice and a free will to come to the banquet table or to decline the invitation.  You have the same choice to accept your invitation into the Kingdom of Heaven…or not!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give your rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”

The gospel is to be proclaimed to the entire world…once that is accomplished the Bible tells us the end will come.  That day is drawing nearer everyday.  This invitation is for ALL.

But you must RSVP, you can’t just show up.  You must choose to act in obedience to God’s word and accept His invitation.

“That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10, NIV)

Repent today and accept HIS invitation. ~Deb
